Hosting My First Book Club Meeting

Happy Wednesday Guys,

I'm Kirby, and welcome back to the Preppy Book Princess.

I wanted to do a little bit different post than normal today for all you guys.

Last weekend, I hosted my first ever book club meeting, and it was so much fun that I decided I wanted to share all about it on my blog.

My book club is definitely not the typical type, as it's just my best friend and I. For years, we were both interested in being a part of one,  but we couldn't find anyone else interested in starting one with us, so we decided to go ahead and start it with just the two of us, and it was honestly so much fun.

I spent a few hours putting together a food spread that I thought looked pretty good if I do say so myself.

The menu included: a vegetarian taco salad, a fruit salad, a veggie platter, a cracker tray, boursin cheese, garlic hummus, and artichoke and asiago cheese dip. As well, I had to find a way to throw my disney obsession in the mix so I put out my favorite wonderland teas, and served lemon water in this adorable pitcher I bought at the Disney store a few years back.

After the yummy food, it was time to jump into a discussion about the first book we chose, Once Upon A Prince by Rachel Hauck.

We both ended up saying that it was hard to put this book down at the stopping point we'd decided on ahead of time, as were both finding the story to be one that instantly pulls you in.

We talked a lot about how we love how inspirational fiction focuses on relationships with a connection other than just the physical, and also how we're both huge fans of the trope where a regular person falls in love with a famous or royal person, so this book is probably going to be perfect for the two of us.

I honestly can't wait to go ahead and finish this one, and have our next get together to discuss what we both thought about it!

I thank you guys so much for reading, and I can't wait to talk to you all about more bookish content soon :)

This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. The photos belong to me, and we're taken by me with an Iphone.

Hallmark Book To Movie Adaptations For Christmas 2017 :)

Good Morning Guys, and Welcome Back to The Preppy Book Princess.

I'm Kirby, and as always, I'm excited to be hear with y'all!

Is anyone else's morning off to a bit of a rough start? I just managed to break my husband's favorite glass, and on top of feeling awful over doing so, I just got the fun job of cleaning up itty bitty pieces of broken glass all over my kitchen floor, and mopping up the milk that seemed to work its way into every crook and crevice in my kitchen.

Oh well, nothing to do about it but move on, and hope and pray that the rest of the day can only go uphill from here.

So considering this morning's events had me not in the greatest mood, I thought today's blog post would be the perfect way to cheer me up.

If any of you aren't familiar with my blog, on top of loving books, cooking, and preppy fashion, I'm a huge fan of made for TV Christmas movies, with the Hallmark Channel's almost always being my favorites.

Once Upon A Prince: Book To Hallmark Movie

Happy Thursday Guys :)

As most of you know, I usually don't post on Thursdays, but I had to make an exception this week.

I recently discovered that one of my favorite inspirational novels is becoming a Hallmark Channel original movie, and I couldn't wait to share the news with all of you guys.

That book is, as you can tell by the title of my post, Once Upon A Prince by Rachel Hauck:

Synopsis from goodreads:

Once Upon a Prince, the first novel in the Royal Wedding series by bestselling author Rachel Hauck, treats you to a modern-day fairy tale.

Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess---just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn't going according to plan. When her high-school-sweetheart-turned-Marine-officer breaks up instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life.

The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simon's Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duti…

Marry Me At Christmas by Susan Mallery Review

Happy Monday Everyone :)

And Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians.

We actually had our family thanksgiving at my mom's yesterday, as that worked out better for everyone's schedules, and it was a wonderful day. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday after Christmas of course, and I always enjoy just having some down time for visiting, eating delicious food, and watching holiday movies.

And speaking of holiday movies, we're literally so close to the start of Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas. And this last week, I finally got the chance to read Susan Mallery's Marry Me At Christmas, which is of course being adapted as one of Hallmark's Christmas movies this year.

I really adored this book, and it's definitely one of my favorites in the Fool's Gold series. I definitely wanted to share my thoughts about it with all of you guys, so let's go ahead and quickly review it.
