First Line Friday: Hadley Beckett's Next Dish

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and that you're all looking forward to the weekend. I'm excited that it's Friday, as that means I'm once again going to be taking part in First Line Friday, a fun, weekly meme hosted by the lovely Hoarding Books .  First Line Friday simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently enjoying, and for this week's pick, I'm excited to be sharing a contemporary romance comedy that I finished a few days back. I specifically chose this one as I love the cover, and May is suggested to feature a book cover that makes you happy or is your favorite color.  Hadley Beckett's Next Dish by Bethany Turner: About The Book: Celebrity chef Maxwell Cavanaugh is known for many things: his multiple Michelin stars, his top-rated Culinary Channel show  To the Max , and most of all his horrible temper. Hadley Beckett, host of the Culinary Channel's other top-rated show,  At Home with Hadley , is beloved

April 2020 Reading Wrap Up: 30 Books in 30 Days

Hello Friends :) Can you believe we're almost to the end of May already? I had so many book reviews to share with you all this month, that I never actually got a chance to post my April wrap up. I know it's really late, but I'm finally going to share it with you all today.  At the end of March, I decided to make myself a goal of trying to read 30 books in 30 days during April. I figured since I wasn't working, and entirely social distancing at home, why not give it a try. I was taking part in OWLS Magical Readathon, I had a bunch of ARCS I needed to get to, I had a bunch of books checked out through the library's Libby app, and I had a bunch on my own shelves I was wanting to try and get to. I ended up actually completing this goal which I'm pretty proud of, and today I thought I'd share with you what books I ended up finishing and what I ended up thinking about them. Before I get started, I wanted to state two things: First, unfortunately, I ended up re

The Heart of a Hero by Susan May Warren Review

Happy Wednesday Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. At the start of the year, I'd reviewed the first book in Susan May Warren's The Way of the Brave,  which you can find here , and while I'd enjoyed it alright, it hadn't ended up being my favorite of her books. However, I really loved many of the secondary characters throughout that story, and I couldn't wait to see each of them get their own story. Next up was Jake and Aria's story, and I knew I needed to read it as soon as possible. After finishing it, I couldn't wait to hop on here and tell you guys all what I ended up thinking about it. Hadley Beckett's Next Dish by Bethany Turner Review

Happy Monday Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. How was your weekend? Mine was honestly pretty good. It was pretty uneventful, but it was also nice just to have some time to read, clean and work in the yard and garden. If I'm being honest though, I spent a very large portion of the weekend reading Bethany Turner's recent release. I was sent this one as part of the Revell Reads Blogger program, and I was so excited to read it. I'd absolutely loved the first book I read by Bethany, The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck, (you can check out that review here ), and I've been hearing from so many other book reviewers that this new release is her best book to date.  Now that I've finished reading it, I can't wait to tell you all what I thought about it. First Line Friday: Carolina Breeze

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun weekly meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. For this week's first line, I'm going to be sharing from Denise Hunter's recently released title that I ended up absolutely loving. Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter: About The Book: A jilted bride. A struggling innkeeper. And a romantic mountain getaway that changes everything. Rising Hollywood star Mia Emerson is looking for a safe place to land in the wake of a public breakup a

Masquerade at Middlecrest Abbey by Abigail Wilson Review

Hello Friends :) How are you all doing? I've been having a pretty decent week so far, and I'm excited to get to share another book review with you all today. There's nothing I love more than talking books with other booklovers, so I'm definitely thankful for my blog and bookstagram, even more so now during the days of social distancing. Last year, I had the pleasure of reading my first book by Abigail Wilson, Midnight on the River Grey, and I loved it. It completely blew my mind, and I loved how original the story was, and the sinister, gothic setting and writing style. You can check out my review here.   With how much I loved that book, it's probably not a surprise to any of you that I was highly anticipating reading her next novel. Today I'm here to share with you what I thought about it, and whether or not it lived up to my expectations. Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter Review

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and that you're staying safe and sound wherever you're reading from today. My province is preparing to open up some businesses in the coming weeks, and I'm feeling extremely nervous about how it's all going to work out. For my part, my hubby and I will be continuing to only go out when absolutely necessary, and choosing to stay home more often than not. I have to say that I've been extremely grateful to have so many amazing books to choose from while I've been social distancing at home, and I've been blessed with just how many books from my most anticipated 2020 releases post that I've gotten to read in the last few weeks. Today, I'm excited to share with you all another review for one of the books from this list, and it was another title that definitely lived up to all of my expectations.
