When Twilight Breaks by Sarah Sundin Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all having a great week, and I want to thank you for joining me (Kirby) here on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review. I've been reading a lot of historical fiction lately, and I recently finished an amazing book by Sarah Sundin that I can't wait to tell you all about. When Twilight Breaks by Sarah Sundin: Source: Publisher as Part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program Publisher: Revell Publication Date: February 2nd, 2021 Genre: Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction Synopsis: Munich, 1938. Evelyn Brand is an American foreign correspondent as determined to prove her worth in a male-dominated profession as she is to expose the growing tyranny in Nazi Germany. To do so, she must walk a thin line. If she offends the government, she could be expelled from the country--or worse. If she fails to truthfully report on major stories, she'll never be able to give a voice to the oppressed--and wake up the folks back home. In another

The Day of Ezekiel's Hope by Donna VanLiere Review

Good Morning Bookish Friends :) I hope you all had a great weekend, and that you're all looking forward to the week ahead. Mine was a little stressful as I've been having a weird pain in my lower back, and have to wait until later today to see the chiropractor. I'm thankful I was still able to keep up around the house, and had the time to do some Bible study and more reading. A little while ago, I shared my review of the first book in Donna VanLiere's end time series (review  here ), and today I'm excited to share with you all my review of the upcoming second book in the trilogy. The Day of Ezekiel's Hope by Donna VanLiere: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Harvest House Publication Date: March 16th, 2021 Genre: Christian Fiction/Speculative Fiction Synopsis: Millions have vanished… War has erupted around the globe… Cities have been ransacked and overrun with lawlessness… Yet this is only the beginning of the chaos that is to come. Amish Midwives by Amy Clipston, Shelley Shepard Gray and Kelly Long Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. If you've been reading my blog for awhile, than you probably already know this about me, but if not, I'm going to go ahead and state that I absolutely love Amish fiction. I've long since been fascinated by their culture, and the fact they they choose to live their lives in only ways that honor the Lord.  The very first Amish fiction book I ever read was when I was probably 13 or 14 and I read Beverly Lewis' The Shunning, The Reckoning, and The Confession trilogy. My interest was sparked right from that point, and I've read countless and countless titles since then. In the current crazy days we're living in, I find Amish fiction to be so uplifting, and I've been choosing to read these titles a lot lately. I recently had the chance to read an upcoming Amish novella collection by three well known author

The Girl in the Painting by Tea Cooper Review

Happy Wednesday Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for all for taking the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess for another book review. My province is still under orders where we're not allowed to gather with other households, and we're just coming out of an extreme cold spell. So those two situations have basically meant that I've had a lot of extra reading time on my hands lately, so I've been getting through my stack of review books much faster than normal. Today's review is from a first time author for me, and I'm excited to share with you all about my experience. The Girl in the Painting by Tea Cooper: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Thomas Nelson Publication Date: March 9th, 2021 Genre: Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction Synopsis: A young prodigy in need of family. A painting that shatters a woman’s peace. And a decades-old mystery demanding to be solved. Australia, 1906 Orphan Jane Piper is nine years o

The Paris Dressmaker by Kristy Cambron Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all in good spirits. Did you have a good Valentine's Day? My hubby and I chose to have dinner at home, and spent the evening together watching a movie and playing board games. With everything that's been going on with me personally and with the state of our world this year, I felt like Valentine's Day this year more than ever needed to be focused around Christ's love for us, and not so much on the other side of things.  I'm been studying my Bible so much more these last few months, and have been really sad to see some of the Christian speakers I've always so admired speaking in ways that completely contradict the scriptures. I've realized more than ever just how important it truly is to know the Bible inside and out, and I'm disappointed in myself for not noticing these discrepancies  in the years prior. I've been thinking a lot lately about the scriptures that talk about people being lead away in late

The Mother Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick Review

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Has there been anything you've finally found the time to do during social distancing that you just didn't have the chance to get to before? For me, I've finally had the opportunity to reread some of my favorite books, which I hadn't had the chance to do so for at least a few years. One of those favorites is The Mother Daughter Book Club series. I'd read these for the first time a few years back, and I'd always wanted to go back and reread them. And since I never reviewed any of the titles the first time I read them, I knew I wanted to review the first title for you all today. The Time of Jacob's Trouble by Donna VanLiere Review

Happy Wednesday Friends :) I pray you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess for another book review. We're currently still under an extreme cold spell; with temperatures with wind chill dipping almost to -50 degrees Celsius. I've only been leaving the house for absolutely essential reasons, so I've had a lot of spare time on my hands. My province is still also under orders where we're not allowed to gather with other households, so I've had a lot of reading time on my hands. With the current state of our world right now, I've been interested in reading more about end times from Biblical perspectives. I stumbled upon The Time of Jacob's Trouble on the Libby app, and it looked like exactly what I was searching for.  I've never been someone who has read a lot of books about end times, as it used to honestly scare me. However, my opinion on this has definitely changed, and I now find myself w

Protected by the Cowboy by Mandi Blake Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray that today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today. Life has been a lot lately. So many of my friends and family (including myself) are going through tough things, and I've heard from so many other Christians going through difficulties as well. I'm so thankful for Jesus throughout it all, and I'm thankful for prayer. If any of you are needing prayer for anything, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. It's currently -47 degrees Celsius with the wind chill where I live, and it's absolutely freezing. So today since my hubby and I both have the day off, we're going to spend the day doing large amounts of freezer cooking and curling up with some great books. In the last few months I've become much fussier about the type of books I'm allowing myself to read. So much garbage is being included in secular publishing lately, and sadly, it's often

It Happened at Christmas by Christen Krumm Review

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Are you someone who reads different stories for each season? Or are you someone like me who can read any story at any time of the year? I've always been the type of reader that has no problem reading summer stories in the middle of January, or picking up Christmas stories in the heat of the summer. Of course, there are certain stories I enjoy more at certain times of the year, but that would never stop me from reading them all year round. This long winded intro is simply my manner of explaining why exactly I'm reviewing a Christmas novel in February.  I actually ended up reading this one and typing up this review back in May. Then everything ended up happening, and it never actually got posted.   It's such a great book though, and I knew I still wanted to share it with you all so that's what I'm going to be doing tod

A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel Review

Happy Wednesday Friends :) I pray you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for taking time out of your busy day to stop by The Preppy Book Princess. This was such a busy week for book releases. Yesterday, three fantastic novels were released into the Christian fiction world, and you're definitely going to want to check them out. Yesterday we saw the release of Dearest Josephine by Caroline George (my review here ), The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher (my review here ), and finally, A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel, which I'm excited to review for you all today. I hope that you'll give one or all of these lovely books a chance, and now let's go right ahead and dive into today's review. A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Revell Publication Date: February 2nd, 2021 Genre: Historical Fiction/Christian Fiction Synopsis: All of her life, Irish-American Moira Doherty has relished her mother's

Dearest Josephine by Caroline George Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray you are all doing well. I'm still struggling, but I'm thankful for God's never ending mercy and grace, and how He's always there. I'm still dealing strongly with an attack on my mind with lies from the enemy, and since our province is still under orders that we can't visit with other households, it's definitely been extra challenging. One way I've been keeping myself motivated is by studying my Bible. I've also been keeping in touch with my family by phone, and being extremely careful what type of medias I'm allowing myself to consume. This practice has been so important for me personally, and of the sixteen books I've read so far this year, I've only ended up rating one less than four or five stars. Today I'd like to share a review with you all for a title that's going to release tomorrow that I really ended up enjoying.
