Friday Reads: June 24th, 2016

Happy Friday To All My Fellow Readers!

Honestly guys I'm so excited it's finally the weekend. This has been such a rough week, with work being insanely busy, and trying to get caught up on housework and yard work, and all that fun stuff, and I'm so ready to finally have some time to relax.

I'm still working today and tomorrow, but am thankful that I have Sunday off, as I will be spending it with my nephew at a local festival which has become a tradition for the two of us to attend together. What are everyone else's plans for the weekend? Hopefully it will be a nice weekend weather wise to be outside.

And speaking of it finally being Friday, I'm excited to once again be doing a #Friday Reads post. #Friday Reads is a weekly meme that is hosted by the Petite Book Blogger, and it consists of talking about the books you will be reading over the weekend, describing whether or not you're liking them, and whether or not you plan on reviewing them.

While I know there's no way I will be finishing all the books I'm including today, I'm hoping to read at least a little bit in each of them.

Here's my books for this weekend:

1) Recreated by Colleen Houck:

This book has honestly been really slow going for me. While I loved Tiger's Curse, I'm just not feeling the same connection to the characters in this one, and I honestly find the Egyptian mythology it's based on a little confusing to follow. However, it is still a fairly enjoyable read, and I'm hoping I will get more into it once I read more of it. Since this is an ARC copy, I will definitely be reviewing this one when I finish it.

2) Fogged Inn by Barbara Ross:

I haven't actually started this one yet, but I've been enjoying the first three books in this series over the last two weeks or so, and I'm excited to dive back into a mystery focused around a family who runs a Maine clambake tourist attraction. I probably will not be reviewing this one when I finish.

3) Lovestruck in London by Rachel Schurig:

Everyone who knows me knows I'm a total sucker for the famous person falling for the average person type of plot line, and that in itself made me fall head over heels in love with this book. However, there's so much more to this book than I was expecting, and I can't even describe how much I love the numerous characters, and the amazing romance developing between the two mains. My best friend just finished this one, and gave it five stars, and I have a feeling I will probably end up doing the same. I will also most likely be reviewing this one as well.

4) Mother Daughter Book Camp by Heather Vogel Frederick:

Last spring I was suffering horribly with my asthma, and my doctor at the time could not seem to figure out a way to get it under control. Unfortunately, this meant I was forced to take a lot of time off of work, and forced to spend a lot of time relaxing, as it seemed that the slightest things would aggravate my lungs, and I'd end up having to be put on a nebulizer. I was in serious danger of losing my mind from how stir crazy I was becoming, and then I happened to discover The Mother Daughter Book Club series by Heather Vogel Frederick. These books helped me through that horrible time, and I was literally so wrapped up in them that I actually forgot about all the horrible health stuff that was going on around me. These characters have been so important to me ever since, and I can't even tell you how excited I was at the start of this week when I found out a seventh and final book had just been released in this series. I was also extremely excited that my library happened to have it, and you can bet that I will be putting aside a considerable chunk of time this weekend to curl up with this book. Hopefully, I will also be getting around to reviewing it.

5) The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer:

My last book for this weekend is The Grand Sophy, and it's a book unfortunately, that I don't know too much about. It sounds like a cute, historical romance though, and I'm looking forward to getting the chance to read it. Although, it will also probably not be one I will be reviewing.

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas.
