Summer Book Haul #bookhaul #tbrlist

Good Morning Everyone, and Welcome Back to the Preppy Book Princess!

I'm Kirby, and I feel that I need to start today's post with an apology for how long it's been since my last post.

Unfortunately, as I've mentioned in previous posts, work has been downright crazy lately, and with me having so much more responsibility on my shoulders now, I haven't had as much free time as I'm used to.

However, I'm definitely working through the process of figuring out how to balance everything, and I'm committed to finding the time to getting my blog back on a regular updating schedule.

For the last few weeks, I haven't had much of a life outside of work, but this week I'm determined to figure out a balance, and I hope to have my usual three posts posted, and I'm going to take some time to head to the beach with my hubby, where aside from relaxing I hope to also get some awesome bookstagram photos.

Anyways, long back story over, today I'm here with my summer book haul.

As many of you guys know, I'd been on a book buying ban basically since November, and I was so over the moon to finally be able to buy some new books. Neil and I both enjoyed picking some new ones out, and I'm excited to share them all with you guys today.

This is our collective haul, and there's a lot of amazing ones in here I can't wait to dive into!
One of my first picks was the newest release by Sarah Dessen, who's one of my all time favorites. I loved her last book Saint Anything, and I'm really hoping to also be blown away by this one.

As many of you already know, my all time favorite author is Debbie Macomber. I read this one shortly after it's release a couple of years ago, but I'd never had my own copy of it. I've gotten into the habit of browsing bookshelves at pretty much every store I go into, cause you just never know where you're going to find a hidden gem. That's definitely what happened here, as this book was on the shelf at Dollarama for 4 dollars!!! I definitely couldn't pass that up, and so I went ahead and grabbed it.

This one was Neil's pick, as he's a huge Sarah J Maas fan, and I've really loved the books I've read by her as well. We were both pretty stoked to learn that Indigo has an exclusive edition of this book which made this purchase even better, as we don't often get the exclusive editions in Canada, like the American stores like Barnes and Noble and Target do.

This is probably the one I'm the most excited about from all our purchases, and that's simply because I love the world that Ridley Pearson has created in these novels. As a huge Disney fan, these books are the perfect fit for me, and I can't wait to see how he wraps up this series that's been a part of my life for quite some time.

Neil also chose books one and two in the Summoner series because he loved the covers and the description. I've been hearing so much about these books from blogs and bookstagram lately, so I'm also excited to read this ones as well.

Lastly, I picked Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine, as I'm completely fascinated by the synopsis and this world building. This one is definitely near the top of my TBR list right now, and I'm hoping it lives up to the hype I've created in my mind for it.

And that's a wrap on my summer book haul. If any of you guys have read any of these, I'd love to hear if you enjoyed them!

Thanks so much for reading guys, and I hope to see you all again on Wednesday for a new book review. :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
