5 Inspirational Reads I Just Added To My TBR List #2

Happy Wednesday Everyone :)

Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess!

A few weeks ago I had done a post on 5 Inspirational Reads I Just Added to my TBR List, which you can find here, and today I thought it would be fun to share another post since I recently just added a bunch more inspirational books to my list.

The Christy Award nominees were recently announced, and browsing the finalists made my TBR pile grow substantially. There's just so many amazing sounding books in this year's categories. If you're unfamiliar, the Christy Awards honor and promote excellence in Christian fiction, and here's the link to this year's nominees, so you can check out all the amazing sounding books yourself.

For today though, I'd like to share the five books that I'm most excited about reading after scrolling through this year's nominees.

1) The Red Door Inn by Liz Johnson:

This is actually the only novel of the three nominated in the contemporary romance category that I haven't already read. You guys know that contemporaries are my ultimate favorite books, and the fact that this one is set in Prince Edward Island makes it even more appealing, as I don't too often find a ton of books that are set in Canada.

2) The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof:

On top of this book being nominated in the historical romance category, I've also heard about it from almost every single inspirational book blogger I follow, and I have yet to hear a bad thing about it. I know it revolves around the circus, a lion tamer, and a nurse, and it honestly sounds unlike anything I've read before, and I'm definitely hoping to pick this one up ASAP.

3) If You're Gone by Brittany Goodwin:

I'm always on the hunt for new YA inspirational books, and this one about a girl who's boyfriend vanishes on the night of his graduation, and her corresponding search for answers sounds amazing, and I definitely can't wait to pick it up.

4) Unblemished by Sara Ella:

This YA fantasy novel about a girl who's face is half covered by a huge birthmark, and who's used to living in the shadows, until one night when her mother fails to come home and suddenly everything changes in her life faster than she ever could have imagined, once again sounds unlike anything I've ever read before, and inspirational fantasy is definitely something I'm interested in starting to read.

5) A Note Yet Unsung by Tamera Alexander:

I already had the first book in the Belmont Mansion series on my TBR, but after reading the description of this one focusing on a young violinist who's denied entry into the Nashville Philharmonic by a young conductor who soon needs her help to finish his symphony, this series has now crawled even higher up on my TBR list.

I'm so excited about all of these new additions to my TBR list, and also about the broad spectrum of titles that are now being published by Christian publishing houses. I hope you guys enjoyed this post about current additions to my TBR list, and I hope to do a Christmas centered one of these in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Enjoy this beautiful day, and I'll see you all again on Friday :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Joy of Falling

This week, Lindsay Harrel's newest book released, and I loved it when I had the chance to read and review it. I'm excited to feature it for this week's First Line Friday post which is hosted by the lovely ladies over at Hoarding Books. Both women are trying to navigate their way through the grief, but neither one is making much progress. Angela is barely making ends meet, angry at her husband for leaving her to raise three children on her own. Meanwhile, Eva is stuck, unable to move forward after losing the love of her life and her source of inspiration. But then Eva gets a life-changing phone call. Befor...
