Falling For You by Becky Wade

Happy Monday Everyone :)

I hope you're all having a great week so far, and I want to thank you all for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess.

Let me ask you all, is there anything more exciting than your favorite author releasing a new book?

Why yes, yes there is! What's even more exciting is having the opportunity to advance read your favorite author's new book before the release date, as I was lucky enough to get to do so with Becky Wade's upcoming release. I honestly don't think this incredible lady could write a bad book if she tried, and each and every book she releases is more amazing than the last.

I couldn't wait to share what my thoughts on Falling For You with all you guys, and make sure ya'll mark your calendar for May 1st as this book is one you are definitely not going to want to miss.

My Review:

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (Bethany House) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Falling For You is Becky Wade at her absolute best. I laughed, I cried, I was pulled into the story unfolding within the pages, and I was reminded once again why this lovely lady is one of my all time favorite authors.

I didn't think it would be possible for me to love Willow and Corbin's characters as much as I did John and Nora from True To You, but I was definitely proven wrong. While we were given glimpses of both characters in the last novel, there's so much more to them both than was initially hinted at, and their second chance romance was beautiful, heartwarming, and deeply moving.

I've always enjoyed the fact that Becky chooses to write about characters that aren't perfect, and that's once again the case with Falling For You. Willow Bradford has taken a leave of absence from her successful modelling career, and she's enjoying running her parent's lovely bed and breakfast. However, the last person she expected to ever run in to in her hometown is that of her ex, former NFL player Corbin Stewart-the only man who's ever truly held her heart. Her determination to avoid him is sidetracked when his adorable, spunky twelve year old "niece" Charlotte enlists both Willow and Corbin's help to solve a missing persons case of a relative she never had the chance to meet. Suddenly, Willow and Corbin are forced to spend large amounts of time together, and both find themselves falling hard and fast. However, they'll both come to realize that their relationship can never have a future, if at first they don't resolve the past hurts from the events that ultimately led to their breakup.

Falling for You emphasizes the fact that as Christians we all face struggles, and unless we're willing to truly turn these over to our Heavenly Father once and for always, they'll continue to eat at us. It was especially interesting to see how this was focused on both from Willow's perspective, who grew up Christian, and from Corbin, who's a relatively new Christian. The faith element is also abundant in the the fact that Corbin is trying to encourage his father to come to Christ, and the reader is shown the way that he struggles with convincing his father to do so when there's many things he himself can't explain.

Once again, I really enjoyed the focus on the sisterly love that exists between Willow, Nora and Britt, and the way that the developing mystery also focuses heavily on the familial unit. Not only has Becky Wade become a master of writing beautiful contemporary Christian romances, but this book also proves that she's mastered the suspense mystery genre as well, and I'm very close to saying this might just be my new favorite by her. Of course, with a Becky Wade book the reader expects some humor thrown in for good measure, and we're definitely not disappointed on this front. Willow and Corbin's interactions are hilarious, as always Grandma and her cynical ways never fail to make me laugh, and many moments of this book had me outright laughing, especially the scene where Grandma is giving her opinions on the way a man should dress.

The Christian market needs more books like this one, and I can't recommend it enough. It gets a perfect five star rating from me, and I already can't wait for the third book in the series to release. I highly recommend picking this one up guys! As this is a release you definitely don't want to miss out on!

Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks so much to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary copy of this one for review!

Thanks so much for reading guys! I hope your week is off to a great start, and I'll see you all again on Wednesday for another book review :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
