I feel like I haven't been doing too well on my reading challenge lately, and I honestly think it's because I kind of fell into a reading slump after reading a couple of disappointing books.
However, Melissa Tagg's amazing stories never fail to pull me back out of a reading slump, and while I'm anxiously awaiting my turn on the library waiting list for the next book in the Walker Family series, I thought I'd share with you all what I thought about book number two.

My Review:
After completely loving the previous three Melissa Tagg books I read, I definitely had my hopes set pretty high for this one, and I was not disappointed. Each of her books just keeps getting better and better, and it's honestly hard to pick a favorite at this point.
The reader was briefly introduced to Logan Walker in the first Walker family novel, and in Like Never Before, it's his turn to take center stage. Logan's life is pretty chaotic; he co-runs a successful business focusing on the political scene that consumes most of his time, and he's stuck trying to find time to balance work while being a single dad after his wife passed away in a car accident. His beautiful daughter Charlie is dealing with speech impediments, and he's struggling to figure out the best way to help her. When his former boss of his hometown's local newspaper bequeaths the struggling paper to him in his will, Logan decides a visit back to Maple Valley might be just what both him and Charlie are so desperately needing, but he definitely never planned on Amelia.
Amelia Bentley is passionate about everyone and everything she cares about, and saving the small town paper she's currently acting editor of is definitely a prime example of this. She's fully prepared to battle a corporate executive to keep her beloved paper running, but she's ill prepared when she finds out that the new owner is none other than her friend Raegan's older brother, Logan. Her and Logan hit it off in ways she never could have expected, but could anything possibly ever work out between the two of them when they want such different things, and when both have such traumatic events to overcome from their past?
Like Never Before is exactly what I've come to expect from the fabulous Melissa Tagg, and it exceeded each and every one of my expectations. Amelia and Logan were adorable together, and are definitely a new favorite couple for me. However, I loved the fact that they were both equally interesting as individual characters, a feat that isn't always easy to accomplish in contemporary romance novels. Amelia was a character that really resonated with me in a lot of ways, and I felt for her through each and every struggle she's had to bury in order to move on with her life. The way she throws her everything into each and every cause, and behind each and every person she believes in made her a true wonder in my eyes, and she definitely stands out as a strong heroine. And while I loved the business, corporate side of Logan, I found his family side even more endearing, and the moments between him and Charlie were probably my favorite parts of his story.
Maple Valley has come to feel like a real place, even after only reading the first two books in the story, and I'm already dreading coming to the end of this beautiful series. Not only did Logan and Amelia's story live up to Kate and Colton's story, but it honestly may have surpassed it for me. A beautiful friendship turned romance, a small town idyllic setting, lots of cameos from the rest of the lovely Walker family, and the plot points of learning to overcome past hurts with the help of the unconditional love of Jesus makes this one a win win in my eyes. Logan and Amelia's story has found a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to see what's next for the Walker family series in book three!
