Good Morning Everyone :)
How has your 2019 been so far?
I honestly can't complain about mine as I got to spend quite a bit of it in my favorite place, Walt Disney World.
There's something about going to Disney that just makes me so happy, and I feel so blessed to have gotten to visit my favorite place as much as I have.
However, let's be honest, Disney vacations are not the cheapest ones out there, and as such, it's impossible for me to get to visit Disney every single time I want to.
Thankfully many authors have written wonderful books that make me think of being at my favorite place, and I've talked about several of them on my blog many times before, like the Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson and Summer of Yesterday by Gaby Triana.
One series that I haven't had too much of an opportunity to mention before on my blog is the Descendants novels by the lovely Melissa de la Cruz, and as I recently finished the third book, I thought now was the perfect time to post a quick review of it for you all.

My Review:
There's something about Melissa de la Cruz's Descendants novels that keep me coming back for more. These books are a tad bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, as I know I'm nowhere near the intended age group for them, but I really find myself continuing to enjoy both the books and the corresponding movies.
This third book in the franchise is probably my favorite of the lot, as I really liked the introduction of the new villains, and really liked the growth that was shown by Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Ben. Compared to the previous books, I found myself also enjoying the story line of this one a bit more as well. That may just be a personal preference however, as The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie to date, and this story largely focuses on Ursuala's daughter Uma.
Once again, Melissa de la Cruz has written a cute, entertaining story that totally appealed to the Disney fan in me. I will say that I wish I'd paid more attention to the timeline of these novels as I ended up watching the second movie before reading the third book, and didn't realize it was supposed to be the other way around. As such, I felt I didn't appreciate Uma, Harry or Gil in the movie as much I maybe would have if I'd read the book first. Plus, Carlos' story line in the movie has a lot more background in the book that I really wish I'd read first. Plus, Mal and Ben are definitely as adorable as ever.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and I gave it four out of five stars. While it's not the deepest book you'll ever pick up, it's perfect for those days when you're wanting something cute and entertaining, or for those days when you're looking for your next Disney fix. I'll look forward to reading the fourth book when it releases, and watching the third movie later this year.
