Hello Friends?
Have you all had a great October? I'm a little disappointed that ours was a really dry month, as usually rainy days in October are my absolute favorites.
I'm really enjoying getting to go for walks though, so the nicer weather has been good for that.
This fall I've really found myself wanting to read cozy mysteries, and I've worked through quite a few of them in the last little while.
I recently finished the second book in Julie Anne Lindsey's Cider Shop Mystery series, and can't wait to tell you all what I thought about it.

My Review:
I loved getting another visit to Smythe Orchard, and Winnie's lovely cider shop. I think this series is fast becoming one of my favorites by this author (including under her various pen names), and I could barely put it down once I picked it up.
When the groom of a wedding being catered by Wynnie at her cider shop dies tragically, she finds herself once again caught up in the aftermath of a dastardly murder. While she knows that Colton wants her to stay out of it, her friends manage to drag her right into the action when her former ex, who is wanted for questioning in the murder, keeps popping up at her place unexpected. Wynnie knows the mystery is best in the hands of law enforcement, but this has once again hit a little too close to home, and she's determined to get to the bottom of everything once and for all.
I think I honestly enjoyed this one even more than the first as Wynnie has shown such character growth since then. She's turned into a strong, female protagonist who has learned her limits, and knows how to be a sensible sleuth. She's not afraid to ask for help when she needs it, and I thought this was definitely a refreshing change. The mystery is well paced and complex, and even though I had figured out a large part of what was going on, I definitely wasn't prepared for the way everything twists near the end, and I was honestly quite shocked, which I loved!
I'm definitely looking forward to continuing on with this series, and the slight glimpse into book three has me highly anticipating reading it!
