Awhile ago on my blog, I read and reviewed Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valor by Ally Carter, and I loved it.

I've always loved her books in the past, and I was beyond excited to discover that this newer release by her was pretty much squeaky clean. That hasn't been my experience with many secular novels as of late, and it was such a pleasant surprise.
Ever since finishing that one, I've been looking forward to diving into the second book.
I finally got a chance to read it, and today I'm excited to share with you all what I ended up thinking about it.

My Review:
Winterborne Home for Mayhem and Mystery had some pretty big shoes to fill for me, after how much I ended up absolutely loving the first book. I've been looking forward to reading this one ever since, and I'm happy to say, that for me personally, it definitely did not disappoint.
Action, adventure, mystery, intrigue, and suspense follow the five orphans from Winterborne Home around each and every corner, and just like the first book, I could barely bring myself to put this one down once I started it.
The plot twists and turns in ways I never actually saw coming, and quite a few of the big reveals were completely not what I was expecting even slightly. I've pretty much enjoyed every book that Ally Carter's ever read, and her writing style continues to be one of my favorites. It's character driven, plot driven, and definitely atmospheric at the same time, and I think that shows a sign of a pretty talented author.
There were so many things I loved about this one, but some of them I really can't talk about without spoiling the first book for anyone who hasn't already read it. However, perhaps my favorite part of all was the strong friendship that's grown between this group of five kids who haven't had the easiest time in the world, and I love how they've basically created their own family group out of the unfair situations they've found themselves thrown into.
Without a doubt, this was everything I was hoping for and more, and my only complaint would be the fact that several things are left unresolved at the end. Obviously, this won't continue to be a complaint for me if the series is continuing, but if it's not, I wish a few things had been better resolved.
Overall, I loved it though, and can't recommend it enough, especially to those of you that love reading action adventure middle grade. Definitely read the first book first though, as otherwise you'll end up missing out on a lot.
