I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've taken the time to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

How has your December been going? Are you well on the way in your Christmas preparations? I feel I'm doing okay on this front. There's still lots to get done, but I do have a week of holidays coming up, and I'm planning to use the majority of it for that purpose.

One thing I especially love doing around the Christmas season is reading many Christmas themed book titles.

I always find myself reading and rereading beloved Christmas novels, and it was only after finishing rereading this one last week that I realized I've never actually reviewed it for my blog before.

My Review:

I stumbled upon this title during one of Christian Book's massive clearance sales back in 2008. My mom ended up purchasing it for me for Christmas that year when I asked for it, and ever since it's become one of my all time favorite Christmas books. However, I didn't realize until this year that I've never actually reviewed it for my blog before. I absolutely adore this heartwarming, holiday tale, and I knew I needed to go ahead and do so after this reread.

I actually ended up reading this one before any of the other titles in the Texas Legacy series. A couple of years later I went ahead and read the others, but didn't end up enjoying them nearly as much as this one. It's a wonderful read about a young man who's recently returned from working in New York to run his hometown newspaper, who has come home with two unexpected surprises. After a chance encounter with two pickpockets on the street, Zack Kahler finds himself adopting twin siblings. Returning back to his hometown with them in tow, he finds another surprise at the boarding house where they're booked to stay. Chloe Weaver has dealt with many tragic circumstances throughout her life, but she's finally found a reputable job working at the town's boarding house. When the man she never thought she'd see again shows up as a guest at the boarding house with two kids in tow, she's determined to guard her heart. Only this Christmas, God has other plans, and what follows is a lovely heartwarming tale full of faith, family, frustrations, and new romance.

I can't possibly recommend this beautiful story enough, and it remains one of my all time favorites despite the many, many times I've reread it over the years. The plot is quick moving and engaging, the romance is sweet and swoon worthy, the characters are all well developed and draw you right in, and most importantly, the faith element is at the front and center. Many Biblical messages are included throughout, like forgiveness and redemption, and I'd highly recommend picking this one up if you enjoy Christian historical romances.

I'm sure this will be far from my last time rereading this wonderful holiday tale.
