I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to drop by my little corner of the internet.

Here on The Preppy Book Princess, I love sharing about my love of Jesus and books, and I especially love sharing about books that keep Jesus at the front and center of them.

I've recently been working my way through the last four novellas in the Smitten Novellas series which is written by four pretty well known Christian fiction authors.

These particular novellas comprise the bind up, Smitten Book Club, and I've been enjoying working my way through them.

My Review:

Shelved Under Romance is a quick, clean contemporary romance novella that takes readers back to Smitten, and gives us Abby and Wyatt's story. While I've enjoyed these novellas as a whole, I've personally found that I haven't ended up enjoying Kristin Billerback's contributions, as much as I have the titles from the other three authors.

While this one did have some elements I ended up enjoying, like Abby having to learn to find her way back to truly living again, I honestly felt like it was really rushed, and the plot wasn't developed enough to keep me entertained throughout.

The romance is very insta lovey (even when taking the novella length word count into consideration), and it didn't end up seeming very believable. As well, the climax of the story seems to introduce too many plot points with not enough time to give them an adequate wrap up, and I was left feeling like something was missing.

I was rooting for Abby, and I enjoyed some more build up to the mystery that continues to play a part of each novella in the collection, but overall I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have many of the others, but I'm still looking forward to moving on to the next novella.

Final Rating: 3/5.
