Happy Friday Everyone!
I hope everybody is excited for the weekend, :)
I know I already did one post today, but unfortunately, I am currently exiled to my house, other than for work, so I figured I'd take the time to get another blog post up today. Why am I exiled you may ask? Unfortunately, there's been some horrific wildfires in a province near us, and that smoke has drifted into our city. Since I struggle hardcore with asthma, my doctor has recommended me to remain inside whenever humanly possible. I am definitely not complaining about this, because the people living in the affected areas are going through horrific things, and the measly bit of smoke we're seeing here is nothing compared to what they're living with right now. I am definitely keeping the people of Fort McMurray in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope they see a resolution of this awful situation soon.
Today I wanted to take part in the "Friday Reads" topic that I've been seeing popping up on booktube lately. I'm not sure who started it, but basically what you're supposed to do is share the books you will be reading over the weekend.
Since I had some spare time today, I figured why not, and hence, here are the books I will be reading this weekend:
1) First, is Shadow Rider by Christine Feehan. I've actually never read one of her books before, and I didn't end up attending the party she threw at RT Booklovers, simply because we had other plans, and it wasn't a huge priority for me. Honestly, after starting this book though, I'm really wishing I had gone to it, because I'm only two chapters into this book, and I'm already in love with, and addicted to it. This will definitely be the book I will be reading the most this weekend. This book is an arc, so it's not available at the moment, but I can't wait for you guys to read it when it is released, cause so far it's amazing!
2) Next is, Better Than Chocolate by Sheila Roberts. I adore Sheila Roberts writing style, and I love how this book is set within a small town with a quirky cast of characters. I actually started this one before we left for Vegas, and I hope I get to finish it soon cause I'm loving the way the romance is centered around saving a family chocolate factory, and the sweet way that Sheila Roberts has woven everything around it.
3) Last but not least is French Roast by Ava Miles. This is the book I'm currently reading on my phone at work, and sorry to say it, but I'm really not liking it too much so far. I don't care for Jill's character, as she comes across super juvenile and whiny, and I honestly don't so far understand why she's so infatuated with Brian in the first place. I also don't really get a feel for chemistry between the two of them, but maybe I would have seen it if I had read the first book in the series before this one. Hopefully this book will be redeemed for me, but so far it's not high on my priority list to finish it this weekend.
