Friday Reads: August 26th

Happy Friday All My Fellow Readers :)

This has been such a long work week, and as well, we've had some repairmen in and out of our home this week, so I can honestly say I am excited it's finally the weekend, where I'll hopefully actually have some time to get a bunch of stuff caught up.

But first I'm here today to do another #Friday Reads Post, which I haven't done in awhile. #Friday Reads is a weekly meme hosted by the Petite Book Blogger, and basically, you just share the books you're planning on reading over the weekend, whether or not you're enjoying them if you've already started them, and if you plan on reviewing them when you finish them.

So here's the books I look forward to curling up with this weekend:

Chasing Truth by Julie Cross:

I'm currently reading this one through Netgalley, and I jumped at the chance to get to do so. I've loved Julie Cross' books Tempest and Whatever Life Throws At You, and hearing this one compared to Veronica Mars and The Pretty Little Liars TV show had me instantly intrigued. Suffice to say that I'm loving this one, and the sinister feeling you get while reading it that you can't trust any of the characters. In fact, I'm liking it so much that I went to the mall to do some shopping the other day, and ended up spending most of my time there at a table in the food court glued to the screen on my phone. I will definitely be reviewing this one when I finish it, I'm just not sure if it will be on my blog too, or strictly on Netgalley.

Shadow Study by Maria V. Snyder:

I haven't started this one yet, and I can honestly say that I'm not too excited about doing so. I was very unimpressed with Fire Study, but I've heard a lot of good reviews about this new spinoff series, and I'm seriously hoping it will redeem itself in my eyes. I probably won't be reviewing this one, but that could change if I end up feeling really strongly about it after I finish it.

After You by Jojo Moyes:

I finished Me Before You with really mixed feelings. While I loved the romance and Lou's character, I was a little on the fence about the controversial topic it dealt with, and not sure how I felt about the whole situation. While I had heard many negative opinions on this second book, I decided to go ahead and read it anyways. I'm not too far into it at this point, I've read maybe 80 pages or so, but I do find myself enjoying it, as it's nice to be back to reading about Lou, as I dearly loved her character in the first book. I'm not sure if my opinion will stay that way or not, but at this point I really am enjoying it, although I don't think I'll be fully reviewing this one either.

The Shop On Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber:

Lastly, I decided to go ahead and work on crossing one of the books off my last Top 5 Wednesday Post "Top 5 Books You Want To Read Before The End Of The Year" off of my TBR list. While I have not started this one yet, I'm fully expecting to love it, as I pretty much always love Debbie's books, and I think it will be a good choice for this rainy weekend. I may decide to review this one when I finish it.


While I don't intend to finish all four of these books this weekend, I do hope to at least start all four of them, depending on how much reading time I end up having.
