Hey Guys!
I hope you're all having a great week, and getting lots of beautiful summery weather like we are in my hometown.
Unfortunately for me I haven't had too much time to enjoy said beautiful weather as I've been coped up inside the last day and a half with sinus headaches and an ear infection. And of course, now that they're both slightly better, I'll be so far behind at work that I probably won't be seeing much of the sun for the next few days. Oh well, such is life sometimes I'm afraid.
I'd noticed that I haven't done a book tag in what feels like forever, and you guys know that tags are some of my favorite posts to do. I was searching for some ones I haven't done before, and I stumbled upon The Creatures of the Night Tag which was started by Katytastic on Youtube, and you can find her original video here.
Basically the tag asks that you name a book that features each of the creatures listed, and so let's go ahead and get started.
1) Vampire:
I'm going to go with Vampire Academy and Bloodlines for this one, as Adrian is one of my favorite vampires of all time.
2) Werewolf:
I of course have to go with my all time favorite, Twilight. While I was definitely Team Edward, and not Team Jacob, I loved Bella and Jacob's friendship, and many of the other wolves, especially Seth Clearwater.
3) Zombie:
I haven't actually read too many books that feature Zombies, as it's just not usually my thing. In fact, I'm one of the few weirdos that's never seen The Walking Dead, and honestly has no urge to ever watch it either. But I did read Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel and I absolutely loved it, so that's the book I'm choosing for here. I didn't think it would be my type of read, but a zombie book in a dystopian setting that's set in a modern regency times world was unlike anything I'd ever read before, and I definitely need to get to the second book soon.
4) Ghost:
For this one I'm going with one of my all time favorite trilogies, Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, and Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier. I loved James character, and he's definitely the ghost that most stood out in my mind for this question.
5) Witch/Wizard/Warlock:
The Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter. I loved Miranda's character, and the way she has to overcome her dyslexia to be the witch everyone knows she can be. I can't wait to read her book here soon too, and finally see how one of my all time favorite series ends.
6) Fairy/Fey:
Knife by R.J Anderson. I really liked how this one explored both the good and evil sides of the fey culture, and I really enjoyed this lesser known trilogy.
7) Demon:
Definitely have to go with The Mortal Instruments for this one. Still one of my all time favorites.
8) Angel:
Immortal City by Scott Speer! I've lost track of how many times I've read this amazing novel, only I wish it had been a stand alone cause I really didn't like where the story went in the rest of the trilogy.
9) Alien:
The Lux Series by Jennifer L Armentrout. I mean who didn't love Daemon Black?
10) Superpowered Human:
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi! And while I'm talking about Shatter Me, is anyone else freaking out that there's going to be three more books in this amazing series? I can't wait to read them!
Lastly, there were two other categories added by others that weren't in the original video but I decided to included them anyways:
11) Dark Lord:
Definitely the Darkling from Shadow and Bone.
12) Elf:
I'm not really sure why this is considered a creature of the night, but I'm going to go with Me, My Elf and I by Heather Swain cause it's literally the only Elf book I can remember ever reading. I'm not so sure it fits here, but it's what I'm going to go with anyways.
