The Ice Cream Book Tag and My 30th Birthday!

It's the fifteen of January guys, and that officially means it's my 30th birthday!

I've been blessed to celebrate with friends the last few days, and I've got some fun plans with my family later tonight.

I definitely plan on telling you guys all about my celebrations in a later DITL post, but for today I figured that The Ice Cream Book Tag was the perfect post to celebrate my birthday with.

This tag was originally created by Alexa Loves Books and Super Space Chick, both on Youtube, and I think it sounds like a really fun tag to partake in.

Vanilla: A Book You Wish Had More Flavor

Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith

I had such high hopes for this book, as the premise sounded sooo good, but it felt like it was missing something, and that the story just didn't come together very well. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown, and it definitely needed more flavor.

Chocolate: A Long Book, or an Immersive World that you enjoyed indulging in.

I've definitely gotta go with Narnia for this one. Even though I've read hundreds and hundreds of books since I read Narnia for the first time, it's still one of the most immersive worlds I've ever read about, and still seems like the most magical place imaginable.

Strawberry: A Romance that was super sweet

Honestly, is anyone truly surprised to see me choose this one?

Ice Cream Sundae: A Book encompassing all the elements you love

My favorite trope is "the famous or royal person falling in love with the regular person" so this novel by Rachel Hauck was right up my alley. Plus, I loved how effortlessly the faith element was blended in, and that it focuses on travel to a small European country. All of which I'm basically obsessed with. I can't wait to hear more about Hallmark adapting this one into a movie.

Milkshake: A book that blends genres

I wasn't actually the biggest fan of Rosamund Hodge's Cruel Beauty, but I did appreciate the way she was able to blend a retelling into a fantasy setting.

Sprinkles: A book with a colorful cover

No idea what this book's about yet, but the cover really reminded me of sprinkles

Ice Cream Cake: A book worthy of a celebration

Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade

I just loved Meg and Bo's story so much :)

Ice cream cookie sandwich or three scoops on a cone: a book with multiple perspectives

Part of what made me love this one so much was the variety of perspectives it was told from. It really added an extra depth to the story.

Waffle Cone: a book you felt compelled to read very quickly

I enjoyed each of the novellas included in this collection so much that I breezed through it pretty quickly.

Pint: a book you set aside but plan on going back to later

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I feel I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I started reading this, but I definitely plan on trying again soon.

I enjoy both, but lately I've been choosing a cup.

Cheesecake or cookie dough

Yes, definitely. I especially love reese's pieces

Your preference: Favorite Local Ice Cream Creamery?

Sadly, I don't actually have a favorite local ice cream place. We generally only go out for ice cream when we're on vacation, otherwise we just make our own sundaes at home.
