Mid Year Freak Out Tag: 2020 Edition

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I've been seeing the Mid Year Freak Out Tag pop on up the bookternet at this time of year ever since I first started blogging. However, I've actually never participated in it before, and I decided that this was the year I needed to go ahead and change that.

What is the best book that you've read so far in 2020?

Nicole Deese is a fantastic storyteller, and I'm still thinking about this heartwrenching story months after finishing it. I loved Joshua and Lauren's romance, and the light that is shone on adoption, and families being more than just blood. I have a feeling this may end up being my favorite book of the entire year.

What has been your favorite sequel of the first half of the year?

I adored this one, and ended up loving it just as much as I did the first book in the series. I can't wait to read Grace's story later this year.

Is there a new release that you haven't read yet that you're really excited for?

I own this one, but haven't had the chance to read it yet. Since the Hunger Games is one of my all time favorite series, I truly can't wait to jump into this one.

What is your most anticipated release for the second half of the year?

There are so many amazing books I could have picked for this one, but I absolutely cannot wait to read Rebecca Ross' upcoming release. I loved The Queen's Rising duology, and I'm hoping I end up feeling the same about this one.

What is your biggest disappointment so far?

I thought this one was going to be amazing, and it wasn't. It wasn't anything like what I was imagining, and I couldn't get into the story at all.

What is your biggest surprise so far?

I had a feeling I was going to enjoy this one, but I was completely blown away by just how much I ended up loving it. Such an amazing story about following God's path no matter what obstacles you may face. I highly recommend it.

Who is your favorite new to you, or debut, author?

I'm probably going to go with Shannon Messenger for this one. My hubby and I buddy read Keeper of the Lost Cities for the first time this year, and we both ended up really enjoying it.

Who is your favorite fictional crush from this year?

This one would really be a toss up between Sam from Stay With Me, and Joshua from Before I Called You Mine. Both however are great choices, and both books were amazing.

Who is your new favorite character?

I truly admired Salina, and the tough choices she has to to make throughout The Farm Stand. I think this is honestly my favorite series by Amy Clipston to date.

A book that made you cry.

I loved this story, but wow the ending made me ugly cry.

A book that made you happy.

I adore Denise Hunter's beautiful novels, and I loved getting to finally start the Chapel Springs series. This book left me with a big smile on my face, and I'm so looking forward to continuing on with the rest of the series.

Your favorite book to movie/tv show that you've seen so far.

I don't think I've actually watched that many new adaptations so far this year, but I really enjoyed the second installment in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before trilogy. I didn't love it quite as much as the first one, but I still thought it was a pretty good movie.

What is your favorite post that you've written so far this year?

I had to really think about this one, but I'm going to actually go with my post for The Secret Life of a Book Blogger tag. It was really fun getting to share some of the behind the scenes details of running my book blog.

What is the most beautiful book that you have bought?

I haven't bought many books this year, but of all the ones I have bought, I'd probably say this cover is the most beautiful.

What are six books you want to read by the end of the year?

There's so many great books releasing later this year, and so many that are already released that I haven't yet gotten a chance to read that it was hard to narrow it down to just six. However, I'm really hoping to get to read all six of these.

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned.
