Paige Turned by Erynn Mangum Review

 Hello Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to drop by The Preppy Book Princess today.

Probably no one is surprised that today I'm going to be sharing another Erynn Mangum book review with you all.

If you're new to my blog, then pretty much what you need to know is that last year I basically fell head over heels in love with Erynn Mangum's amazing Christian contemporaries, and I've basically been gobbling them up ever since.

Today's review is going to be of the third and final title in the Paige Alder series, and if you'd like to check out my reviews of the first two books in the series, you can do so using the links below:

Paige Rewritten

Now I hope you'll all keep on reading down below to find out whether or not this one ended up being as amazing as the first two books in the series were.

Paige Turned by Erynn Mangum:

Source: Library

Publisher: Think

Publication Date: March 11th, 2014

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary

Series: Paige Alder

Synopsis:

Despite her valiant efforts, Paige Alder seems stuck in chaos. Her new job as youth intern keeps her hopping from coffee shop to coffee shop all summer long, but at least she's loving the one-on-one time she gets to spend with the girls. The unfortunate side-effect is that now, four weeks of laundry fills her apartment. Plus, she barely has time to help her sister and best friend with their weddings! And even worse? Something is definitely wrong between her and Tyler. She apologized for what he thought he saw happen with Luke. Can't they move past it? Or could there be something he's not telling her--something that could change everything? This is the third and final book in the Paige Alder series.

My Review:

I honestly cannot believe that the day has finally come to review the last title in Erynn Mangum's Paige Alder series. I felt like I took my time reading through these titles, and yet, alas here we are. This one was super bittersweet, and in some ways I wanted to breeze right through it, while on the other hand, I wanted to take my time and savor the last time I'd ever read a new story about these characters for the first time.

With every single title I've read by this author, my favorite part continues to be how realistic her characters and stories are. These aren't about perfect Christian young women, rather these are women who are learning what it means to follow Jesus, and learning that a Christian's walk of life is rarely ever the perfect picture we'd all like to think it should be.

Right from the opening chapter of the first title, Paige was a character I found relatable and authentic, and I've loved following her journey ever since. She's shown so much growth and maturity since the beginning, and in Paige Turned, we get to witness her diving into her new career as a youth counselor working under her church's youth pastor Rick. Of course, the job may be a bit more than she candle somedays, but the reader can easily see the heart that Paige has for each of these girls, and her determination to make a difference in each of their lives.

I've enjoyed the pairing of Paige and Tyler right from the start, and while my opinion on that hasn't changed, I have to be honest that I felt a little letdown in the romance department throughout this title. I don't feel the reader gets enough of their actual relationship, certain plot points didn't seem to be resolved, and I wasn't a fan of how the ending took place in the slightest.

While I do think this was still a wonderful story, it did pale a bit in comparison to the previous two, and I was personally left wanting a bit more, especially with it being the conclusion to the series.

Final Rating: 4/5.

If only there'd been a bit more to it, and a few points ironed out a bit better, it probably would have ended up being another five star read for me.

Still another wonderful title from this author, but not as good of conclusion as the "original" Lauren Holbrook trilogy had.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often.
