Today's review is for a title that's been on my TBR list ever since it released back in 2015, and I finally got around to reading it.
I know it's a little bit past Valentine's Day, but not by that much, and so this review seemed appropriate to share with you all today.

My Review:
I've loved every book I've ever picked up by best selling author Courtney Walsh, and I expected Paper Hearts to be no different.
This one ended up being a sweet and heartwarming story that touches on some deeper issues, and reminds us all the we are never too far broken for God to reach through into our mess. I did end up enjoying it, as I especially adored the setting and the story behind the paper hearts themselves. It was an original storyline, and I enjoyed how it ended up developing in a direction that was perhaps a bit different than I was expecting.
However, I didn't end up enjoying the characters, especially Jacob. I wanted a bit more from their character development, and unfortunately they all ended up falling flat for me. The only character I truly enjoyed was Jacob's sister Kate, I thought her story was interesting, and I wish she'd had a bit more of a prominent role.
Overall, it was a sweet story that would be perfect read around the Valentine's Day time period. It wasn't as good as I was hoping for, and it's not my favorite by this author, but I did enjoy it enough to eventually go ahead and read the second book in the series when I get around to it. I applaud the author for choosing to tackle some deep issues gracefully throughout the story, and I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a clean, faith based romance.
