Five Inspirational Reads I Just Added To My TBR

Happy Friday Guys :)

I'm so excited you're all joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess, and as always, I can't wait to talk books with you all. :)

I had mentioned in a previous blog post just how badly I had wanted to attend The Christian Fiction Reader's Retreat in Ohio this year, but sadly the dates just didn't work for me to go.

As it was last Saturday, August 12th, I pretty much spent that whole day after work following the hashtag on Instagram and Twitter to see the amazing time that all the attendees were having.

If you're unfamiliar with this particular retreat, you can find out more about it here. From following the hashtags however, I discovered so many amazing sounding books. Both from authors attending the convention, and from authors who showed up in my recommended feeds on both platforms from all my searching.

I've literally added so many new inspirational books to my TBR list in the last couple of days, and I definitely wanted to take the time to share five of the newest ones I added with all of you.

1) Paper Hearts by Courtney Walsh:

Courtney Walsh is an author that's been on my TBR list for quite sometime, but after following her on Instagram and seeing the book trailer for this particular novel on YouTube, she's definitely an author that now I'm dying to read ASAP. This contemporary sounds so sweet, and sounds like such an original story idea, and I definitely have a feeling that one is for sure my cup of tea.

2) Intermission by Serena Chase:

I've mentioned time and time again that I'm literally the queen of contemporary novels, especially YA novels, but I've honestly come across very few Inspirational YA contemporary novels, and so I couldn't contain my excitement when I discovered Serena Chase through twitter the other day. This story sounds amazing, and like something I need in my life as soon as possible, and considering Serena also has a YA fantasy inspirational series, I definitely have a feeling I'm going to be reading lots from her in the years to come.

3) One More Song To Sing by Lindsay Harrel:

Lindsay Harrel was an author that showed up in my recommended feed on Twitter, and once I read the description of her amazing sounding debut novel, I knew this one had to be added to by TBR list without a doubt. And guys, how beautiful is this cover?

4) An Inconvenient Beauty by Kristi Ann Hunter:

Kristi Ann Hunter is an author I'd had recommend to me previously by people who knew I loved inspirational fiction, but for some reason or another, I'd never gotten around to looking up her books. Now that I have, I'm dying to read this upcoming release by her, and since it's the fourth in the series, I definitely need to get on with reading the first three in the upcoming weeks.

5) Just The Way You Are by Pepper D. Basham:

Last on my list, is this beautiful sounding contemporary novel by new to me author Pepper Basham. She was an author that showed up numerous times when I was strolling through the Christian Fiction Reader's Retreat hashtags, and after looking her up and discovering this novel about a trip to England, a family mystery, and British movie star, I couldn't be more excited to read her books.

Lol as you guys can see, I'm not kidding when I say how much I love contemporary novels, and I can't wait to give all of these a try in the hopefully near future.

If any of you are also a huge fan of inspirational fiction and have some other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great weekend everyone, and I'll see you all again on Monday :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
