Blogmas Day Sixteen: Series of 2017 Results

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you're all doing well, and I thank you for joining me for the sixteenth day of Blogmas.

Last year for Blogmas Day 22, I had posted about the series I wanted to finish in 2017, and you can find that post here.

For today's Blogmas post, I thought it would be fun to see how well I actually did on finishing the series that I'd planned to finish throughout this year.

First off, I had planned to finish The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, and I'm sad to say I did not accomplish this. I have yet to read Winter, and I think it's mainly because I'm sad to see one of my all time favorite series come to an end.

Next was The Selection series by Kiera Cass, and I did actually accomplish this. I wasn't too crazy about The Crown overall, but I still did really like the rest of the books in the series.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo is an all time favorite book of mine, but I'm sorry to say that I didn't get around to reading the rest of the trilogy like I'd originally planned to this year.

The Maze Runner series by James Dashner was another series that I'd planned on finishing, but honestly this series doesn't really interest me as much as it used to, and I'm not sure if I'll ever actually get around to reading the last book or not.

The Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella was another series I'd really wanted to finish in 2017, but alas, it also did not happen. This is one I'm really hoping to have a chance to get to at the start of 2018.

And the last series I'd slated for 2017 I did actually finish, and that was Raised By Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with how she chose to conclude this series, and I was left feeling massively disappointed. I'd definitely recommend The Naturals over this series.

So all in all, I didn't do too great on accomplishing finishing these series in 2017, but I did end up finishing a couple of series that weren't on my original list, so I don't think I did too too bad all things considered.

Were there any series you guys finished in 2017? I'd love to hear about it if you did.

Thanks so much for reading everyone! I'll see you all tomorrow for Blogmas Day Seventeen :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

I'm excited to feature it for this week's First Line Friday post which is hosted by the lovely ladies over at Hoarding Books. Both women are trying to navigate their way through the grief, but neither one is making much progress. Angela is barely making ends meet, angry at her husband for leaving her to raise three children on her own. Meanwhile, Eva is stuck, unable to move forward after losing the love of her life and her source of inspiration. But then Eva gets a life-changing phone call. Befor...
