Happy Friday Everyone :)
This week's edition of First Line Friday is technically supposed to be in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, but I actually really struggled to come up with a book that would fit within this category.
So instead I decided to focus on spring themed books, as we've finally seen a glimpse of some beautiful spring temperatures this week.
First Line Friday is hosted by the lovely ladies over at Hoarding Books, and is a fun, weekly blog meme where you simply share the first line of the book you're currently reading.
One of my all time favorite spring themed reads has to be this beloved favorite by Janette Oke, and is of course one that I can read over and over again without ever tiring of it. Plus, the cover has some green hues on it, so I figured it might just work for St. Patrick's Day as well. (Yes I realize I'm slightly grasping at this one.)

About The Book:
After a year of teaching in a one-room schoolhouse on the western frontier, Elizabeth plans her wedding to Wynn Delaney, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. As they begin their new life together at his isolated outpost in the far north, Elizabeth is unprepared for the loneliness she feels and the rigors of life without any of the conveniences she's accustomed to. Her deep love for Wynn and her faith in God seem like all she has. But will that be enough?
My Thoughts:
Janette Oke and Beverly Lewis were the first two authors I ever read within the Christian fiction genre. Years later, I still adore both of these ladies' novels so much, and I have read and reread them countless times since. I've always had a special place in my heart for Elizabeth and Wynn's story, and I think these books always intrigued me even more as they were set in my home country. I'm sure a lot of people are already familiar with this amazing series, but if you personally haven't read them yet, I'd definitely recommend doing so.
