I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me here on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review.

I've been enjoying working my way through the Nancy Drew Diaries, as I've loved seeing one of my favorite literary figures in a new era for a new generation.

While I wouldn't necessarily say this series is a new favorite, it's definitely been an enjoyable experience, and I'm excited to share another review from it with you all today.

Nancy, Bess, and George can't wait to start their trip to Nantucket. The three girls are there to visit Bess’s family friend Jenna and go to the opening of an exhibit at the local whaling museum. Jenna’s been working on the exhibit for months, but when the girls get to the museum, a threatening banner has replaced the welcome sign.

Nancy’s got plenty of potential suspects, but she’s worried she won’t be able to solve the case in time to save the opening. And as the threats increase in severity, she becomes more concerned about Jenna’s safety than the ruined exhibit. Can Nancy find the culprit in time?

My Review:

I was really looking forward to this particular title in the Nancy Drew Diaries, as I usually love books with a coastal setting like Nantucket, Mackinac Island, Maine, etc etc. This particular title is rich in history, and that was probably one of my favorite parts of the book. The entire plot and corresponding mystery are shrouded in the local history, and I thought it made this particular title stand out a lot more.

That being said, I did feel once again that the culprit was a tad obvious, and I didn't enjoy the fact that it seemed like, as per the norm for this particular series so far, the majority of the clues fell right into Nancy's lap, and it didn't particularly feel like she was actually solving anything.

Still a lovely addition to the series however, and the historical component more than made up for my issues with the mystery being too easily put together.

Final Rating: 3/5.

Not my favorite in the series so far, but a much better story than some of the previous have been.
