I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you chose to take the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

Last week was quite a stressful week for me unfortunately. So many things went wrong in the course of one week that it was crazy, and I'm going to admit that I spent way too much time hiding in my house within the pages of wonderful Christian fiction titles.

I definitely needed a break, and I'm thankful for the many wonderful titles I got to read during this time.

One of those reads was one I'm particularly excited to share all about with you guys today.

I've had the pleasure of reading several of this author's titles in the past, and I couldn't wait to dive right into this one.

My Review:

I've had the pleasure of reading a few of Kristina Hall's titles over the past couple of years, and I can state without a doubt that Trouble in Dry Springs is her best work yet. I was intrigued by the synopsis of this one, and I went into it fully expecting to enjoy it. However, I will ill prepared for just how much this beautiful story was going to tug at my heartstrings, and I finished it with a big smile on my face and the knowledge that it's another title going on my list of best books I read in 2023.

I grew up reading Christian western stories, and this one took me right back to those days. This author really seems to shine within this genre, and she's crafted a masterful story with complex plot points, well developed characters every reader will want to root for, and a beautifully put together setting that truly brought all the vivid descriptions to life in my mind.

Jesse and Eliza's story is full of strife, harsh circumstances, and dangerous situations, but through it all they continue to rely on God's love and leading no matter where it might take them. Their romance is beyond sweet, and I appreciated that it gives the reader all the feels, while still staying completely squeaky clean as this isn't always the case in Christian fiction anymore. I'm so thankful Kristina Hall didn't compromise on this fact.

All in all, I completely adored this entire story, and I can't possibly recommend it enough. I can't wait to continue on with this series, and I'm hopeful we'll get to see a wonderful redemption arc in the next title.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Definitely pick this one up for yourself if you're a fan of Christian westerns or Christian historical fiction. You won't be disappointed you did so!
