Over the past couple of the years, the multi author Doors to the Past series has become a new favorite of mine, and while a couple of the titles I ended up not caring for, the majority have been wonderful.

My Review:
There were many things to love about this title in the multi author Doors to the Past series. I've honestly loved the majority of the titles in this series, and I loved the opportunity through reading this one to learn more of the history surrounding the Underground Railroad.
With a well intentioned plot, strong female protagonists, interesting historical components, and a dual timeline that weaves together in many ways that end up surprising the reader, Passages of Hope truly had a lot going for it. However, this didn't end up being quite the five star read I was expecting, simply because I felt like too many plot points were introduced to be properly addressed within the smallish word count. This left the plot feeling kind of disjointed towards the end, and the ending was rushed and left some of the questions raised to be not properly resolved.
However, it was still a well rounded read that tugs at the heartstrings and touches on an important piece of American history. I especially enjoyed Terri J. Haynes' writing style, and I'd love to take a chance on another of her many books in the future.
Final Rating: 3.5/5
I'd recommend this one to anyone who enjoys dual timeline stories and/or clean mysteries.
