A Thousand Words by Mandi Blake Review

 Happy Sunday Friends :)

I hope you're all having a great weekend, and enjoying today as the Lord's Day. Since today is Sunday, that means we've finally come to the end of my week of daily blogging, but I've got an awesome review to share with you all to cap off a fantastic week of books.

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you probably already know that Mandi Blake is one of my all time favorite authors. I love gobbling up every single story she chooses to release, and in fact, she's got another releasing next month which I couldn't be more excited about!

However, today's review is especially exciting as this particular title is the prequel novella to her series that started it all. It's actually already released, and you can find it along with eleven other amazing new stories from beloved Christian authors in the Love's Treasure Box Set.

I enjoyed this beautiful story so much, and I hope you'll all take the time to grab this box set for yourself, as it includes so many talented authors, and I'm looking forward to diving into more of the stories very soon.

I was gifted my copy of Mandi's novel, but I also did purchase the entire box set for myself to support her and the rest of these authors, and I hope you'll all consider doing the same. :)

Now let's jump right into today's review.

A Thousand Words by Mandi Blake:

Source: Complimentary Copy Provided by the Author

Publication Date: June 2021

Genre: Christian Fiction/Christian Contemporary

Series: Unfailing Love/Also Included in the Love's Treasure Collection

Synopsis:

Tyler’s last year of residency is all work and no play, just the way he likes it. His life would be smooth sailing into his medical career if he could improve his bedside manner. He agrees to a blind date but only to practice communication skills. Then, he’s speechless when he sees who is across the table.

Sissy isn’t one to turn down an adventure, especially not a blind date with a reportedly handsome doctor. When the blind date turns out to be her brother’s friend, Tyler, she’s not at all disappointed. Can she convince him to go with the flow for once?

He’s cautious, and she throws caution to the wind. When Tyler’s loyalty is torn between his friend and the woman he’s falling for, one unspoken word could be enough to change everything.

(synopsis from goodreads)

My Review:

When I first heard that Mandi Blake was writing Sissy and Tyler's story, I could barely contain my excitement. They were some of my favorite characters in the Unfailing Love series, and I couldn't wait to hear how their entire romance came about, especially with Sissy being the younger sister of one of Tyler's best friends. I can wholeheartedly say that this story was everything I was waiting for and more, and I can't possibly recommend it enough.

Sissy and Tyler are set up on a blind date; neither realizing who the other is beforehand. Both feel an instant chemistry, but navigating a relationship is going to be tricky since neither are sure how Sissy's older brother is going to end up feeling about it. As feelings begin to grow, they both feel this relationship is where God is leading them, but circumstances soon throw a huge curve ball, and neither are sure how to navigate through such troubled waters.

There are so many things I love about reading any Mandi Blake book. I love that the faith content is always at the front and center. I love how she's not afraid to tackle tough issues, and instead uses those issues as a way of showcasing God's amazing grace, and how He's always got a plan for our lives. I love how she can write amazing, swoon worthy romances that always leave the reader completely immersed in the story, but never includes uncomfortable content. And I especially love how she writes her characters in ways that make them feel like old friends. Sissy and Tyler's story includes all of these things plus so much more, and I truly adored it from start to finish.

If you've yet to read a book by this amazingly talented lady, then this is definitely the perfect one to start out with. I'm thinking I'm going to be rereading the entire Unfailing Love series in the very near future as I'm just not ready to say goodbye to my favorite characters yet.

I definitely recommend picking this one up, and I can't wait to read more of the books in the Love's Treasure Collection.

Thanks so much to Mandi Blake for providing me with a complimentary advance reader copy of her story to read and review!

Final Rating: 5/5.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks so much for reading guys! May the Lord work amazing things in all our lives this week, and may we all be willing to let Him!

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
