Make You Feel My Love by Robin Lee Hatcher Review

Happy Friday Friends :)

I pray you've all had a great week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend.

Are you planning on doing anything special for Father's Day?

My husband and I will be joining my mom and stepdad and possibly a couple of other family members for a trip to a farm that we all really enjoy. They feature a goat walk, petting zoo, delicious restaurant and bakery, and many other fun things. We haven't been here since last fall, so we're all really looking forward to getting to spend the day together there.

Today, I'm looking forward to sharing with you all my review of Robin Lee Hatcher's upcoming book release. Her 2020 release (How Sweet it Is my review here) ended up being one of my favorite books of the entire year, so I couldn't wait to dive into this one.

Keep reading to see what I ended up thinking about it.

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Publication Date: July 13th, 2021

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

A century apart, two women start new lives—and two unlikely love stories prove powerful enough to conquer fear.

In 1895, Cora Anderson jumps on a cross-country train to escape New York society and her domineering father. She leaves with only some spare clothing, jewelry that once belonged to her grandmother, her cherished violin, and hopes for an uncertain future. The tiny town of Chickadee Creek is idyllic and welcoming, but it’s only a matter of time before Cora’s new friends discover the secrets of her past.

More than a hundred years later, Chelsea Spencer is fleeing a dangerous situation of her own when her great aunt’s antique shop in Chickadee Creek becomes the perfect haven. At the same time, up-and-coming Hollywood star Liam Chandler has returned to the town of his ancestors to grieve some painful family losses and ponder the direction of his career.

When Chelsea discovers a beautiful violin among her aunt’s antiques, she begins to wonder about its origins. In this heartwarming Idaho town, one precious instrument will connect Liam and Chelsea to each other and to loves long forgotten. There, the captivating history tells them the stories of how to walk by faith and live in God’s perfect freedom.

My Review:

Robin Lee Hatcher has become one of my all time favorite authors, and I especially adore her books where dual timelines play a part. Make You Feel My Love is the book that the Christian publishing world has been desperately in need of, and I'm not sure words can even express how much I adored this particular title.

One of my favorite things about this author's books is the fact that faith is always at the front and center. This beautiful story focuses around two strong female protagonists, one in the present day and one in the 1890's, who are trying to put the traumatic abuse of their past behind them. When Chelsea in the present day encounters a beautiful antique violin in her great aunt's store, it sparks a journey to discover the history of the previous owner (Cora), and the way it ties into Cora's relative Liam in the present day.

As Cora and Preston grow closer in the past, and Liam and Chelsea begin to develop feelings in the present, the reader gets a first hand view of the healing that comes along in the process and how both couples are determined to let go and let God no matter the circumstances. I loved the way that faith in Jesus is represented as not an absence of problems, but rather the guarantee that you will get through it with Him standing by your side. Rarely have I seen the faith element be so seamlessly and authentically inserted into a story, and it speaks volumes of the talent of this author.

Make You Feel My Love is a breathtakingly beautiful story that highlights faith, family, friendship and love, and is truly Robin Lee Hatcher at her best. This is definitely one of the best books I've read this year, and I can't possibly recommend it enough.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to advance read and review this!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not required to give a positive review.

Have a great rest of your weekend guys :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
