To The Uttermost by Kristina Hall Review

 Hello Friends :)

I pray you're all having a great week, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

We're currently in the midst of a massive heat wave where I live, and it's getting to honestly be a bit too much. We're expected to be in this particular wave for at least the next two weeks, so I've been spending quite a bit of time in the air conditioning in the afternoons curling up with a book. I've been enjoying reading outside and going for walks in the evenings once it's cooler, but yeah I don't foresee myself spending a lot of time outside until this dissipates a bit.

You may not know this about me but I really love Christian historical fiction with a western setting, and yet, I really don't get a chance to read too many books in this genre.

When an author reached out to me about reading and reviewing her newly released Christian fiction historical title with a western setting, I definitely jumped at the chance. Today I'm here to share with you all what I ended up thinking about it.

My Review:

I may not have realized it at first, but To The Uttermost is the book I've been desperately searching for within the Christian fiction genre. I've become a little disheartened as of late seeing so many title bearing the Christian fiction genre stamp, but that fail to truly have anything in them that's God honoring or scriptural based. It was completely refreshing to read this beautiful Christian western romance that's full of faith, suspense, family and a budding romance.

This was my first experience with a Kristina Hall novel, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I can guarantee that whatever expectations I might have had, this book definitely surpassed. Owen and Sally's story is not for the faint of heart, and it will probably keep you reading long past bedtime, but it's truly a remarkable tale that speaks volumes to Kristina's talent as a storyteller.

The story dragged me in right from the start, and I found myself on the edge of my seat at Owen vows revenge against the man (Guilford) who took his brother's lives, and finds himself on a quest for vengeance that goes against everything he was raised to stand for. Under the guise of growing closer to Guilford, he takes a job at the ranch where Guilford's sister is currently living, and befriends her under false pretenses. When he starts to care for the family who he's been taking advantage of, and the situations turn more sinister than anyone could have possibly prepared for, will he truly be able to let go of his quest once and for all, and trust that justice is only to be served by the One who desires us to love Him above all else.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one from start to finish, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a novel along the lines of Karen Witemeyer. It's well paced, well plotted, well developed, and so much more than you'd first expect when pick it up.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Kristina Hall for providing me with a complimentary copy to read and review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
