My Review:
I've been wholeheartedly enjoying reading through this wonderful, heartwarming series that's written by multiple authors. Since Melody Carlson is one of my favorites, I had a feeling this was going to be a title that I would end up really enjoying.
As always, I loved getting to revisit Acorn Hill, and it's charming, but quirky cast of characters. I personally like Alice the most of the three sisters, so it was a pleasant surprise to have this title be from her point of view. The reader gets a glimpse at a romance from Alice's past that resurfaces in the present, and it was an interesting inclusion getting to finally find out why Alice ended up single living with her elderly father when her sister's both chose to follow a much different path.
I'm someone who always enjoys books that include a form of epistolary style; like letters or diary entries, and I loved how that element is included in this one. Alice, Louise and Jane stumble upon a journal their father kept when he was a youth, and through reading it together they stumble upon a part of their history that they weren't aware existed.
Hidden History is definitely another wonderful title from the Tales from Grace Chapel Inn series, although I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites so far. I wanted a bit more from the historical bits, and I thought it was a big build up towards "hidden" family history, that ended up not being quite what I was expecting or prepared.
Overall, still a great story, just not the best from the series in my opinion.
