Saying A Fond Farewell To RT Book Reviews

Happy Saturday Guys :)

I apologize for this post being a day late. Somehow, I completely forgot to upload it yesterday, and so you're all getting a weekend post instead.

I'd originally planned a new book review to share with you all for today, but instead I wanted to post about how sad I am to hear that RT Book Reviews and The RT Booklovers Convention will be no more.

Kathryn Falk shockingly announced at this year's RT Booklovers convention in Reno, Nevada that this year would be the last for the convention, and that the magazine would also be coming to a close.

For so many years RT Book Reviews was a pioneer in the book industry, and I know they helped many authors get the recognition their books deserved.

The RT Booklovers Convention was one of a kind, and it was the type of convention that literally had something for anyone. If you were like me and into Christian fiction and Young Adult fiction, they had plenty of events to keep you happy. If you were into the heavier romance titles, you would have been kept super busy with all the panels and events, and they catered to every sub genre like historical, contemporary, shifter, etc.

I only had the pleasure of attending the convention in 2016, but it was such an amazing experience. I got to hear Rachel Hauck, Katherine Reay, Denise Hunter and Lenora Worth talk about book clubs in the cyber age, and attend an amazing breakfast with all these authors that was sponsored by Thomas Nelson. I got to play ya trivia with Rae Carson, got to meet Katie McGarry at a book signing, and attend the fabulous Avon party where there was free books and authors galore.

It unfortunately didn't work out for Neil and I to attend again in either 2017 or 2018, but I fully intended to be back for 2019. I only wish I'd known that this year was going to be the last as I would have done my best to have been there.

I'll always look back fondly on my week at one of the world's best reader book conventions, and I'm very sad that there won't be any RT's in the future.

To end out today's post, here's a few pics of some of my favorite memories of our fabulous week at RT Booklovers 2016 in Las Vegas!

If any of you guys had the pleasure of attending RT, are you as sad as I am to hear it's no more?

The photos were taken by me and belong to me.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
