The Coffee Corner by Amy Clipston Review

Happy First Day of Advent Everyone :) I pray you're all doing well. I'm unfortunately still not. I'm still fighting this horrible attack on my mind from the enemy, and it's depleting a lot of my energy. I'm thankful for prayer, scriptures and the fact that this battle has brought me closer to Christ, but I'm really praying there will be a light at the end of the tunnel soon. If any of you guys are struggling with anything, be sure and let me know if I can pray for you. Today is release day for one of my favorite authors new release, and I can't wait to share about it with you all. The Meaning in Mistletoe by Rachael Bloome Review

Happy Saturday Friends :) I hope all my American readers had a good Thanksgiving, even if it was probably different then in previous years. You've all probably noticed that I haven't been around as much on here or on my social medias. I've mentioned the hard time I've been going through, and honestly I'm still really struggling. There's a part of me that feels like I shouldn't be posting on here or on social media when I feel like I'm such a mess and so broken, but then another part of me feels like we're all probably broken in some way and maybe my honesty about everything could help someone else. I've been listening to Matthew West's The Truth Be Told a lot in the last couple of weeks, and it's such an amazing song with an extremely powerful message. I'm struggling to decide what to do, but I could really use your prayers for this battle in the meantime. If any of you are going through a hard time and also need prayers, don't

Cross Shadow by Andrew Huff Review

Hello Friends :) It's been awhile. Unfortunately, I've been going through a really tough time, and I've never personally been through a spiritual warfare battle like this in my life. I don't have a lot of energy right now, so my blog hasn't been able to maintain my usual three posts a week for awhile now. Lord willing, I'd love to get it back to it eventually, but in the meantime, I'd really appreciate any prayers for strength and encouragement you could send my way. Today I'd like to share a new book review with you all. Mistaking the Cowboy by Mandi Blake Review

Hello Friends :) I pray you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me here today on The Preppy Book Princess. I'm sorry that I haven't been around here much lately. My family has been going through really challenging times the last couple of months, and honestly, it's felt like we've been under pretty much constant satanic attack. I don't want to go into all the details, but I'd much appreciate any prayers you'd be able to send our way. So many Christians I'm hearing from are suffering through stuff right now, and if I can pray for any of you as well, please reach out and let me know. With everything that's been going on, I haven't had quite as much time or energy for my blog to be honest. However, one of my all time favorite authors has a book releasing next week, and I knew I needed to share about this one with all of you. Scripture of the Week: October 15th, 2020

Blessings Friends :) I haven't been around on here as much lately, and that's because the last few weeks have been really rough. I've been fighting a mental spiritual warfare battle that a lot of days has left me drained, and then in the midst of it I ended up being hospitalized, eventually needing an appendectomy. After the surgery, my body wasn't able to digest food or drink properly, and I ended up back in the emergency room twice in order to get nutrients through an IV. It's probably not surprising that I've been feeling pretty down and depressed through everything lately, and sometimes the spiritual battle seemed like too much for me to possibly press through. However, I've firmly been told in my prayers that there will be an end to this battle in sight, and if I'm being completely honest, this battle has made me take the necessary steps to reevaluating how I've been living my life. When you're dealing with such scary circumstances, it rea

Something Worth Doing by Jane Kirkpatrick Review

Hello Friends :) I pray today finds you all well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Some of you may have noticed that my last few reviews lean more towards the negative. I don't like being a negative person as the norm, but I've been really struggling lately with the kind of content that's being published, even under respected well known Christian publishers. I've been shying away lately from most secular fiction titles as I personally find the content to be heartbreaking and disturbing; especially considering how much of it is being "distorted" and finding its way into children's and young adult titles. I feel as a Christian reviewer I've been slacking. I've gone through over five years of reviewing on this blog, and I haven't always had my standards as high as they should have been. As Christians we are called to stand for more than going along with society's messed up i

The Key to Love by Betsy St. Amant Review

Hello Friends :) and Happy Thanksgiving To All My Fellow Canadians Thanksgiving looked a little different this year. Obviously Covid 19 affected everyone's get togethers, and also for me recovering from surgery, it went a little differently than the norm. However it was still so nice to get to visit with at least a small amount of my family, and I also had the chance to finish reading the book I'm going to talk about with you all today. The Key to Love by Betsy St. Amant: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Revell Publication Date: October 13th, 2020 Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Synopsis: The only thing Bri Duval loves more than baking petit fours is romance. So much so, she's created her own version of the famous Parisian lovelock wall at her bakery in Story, Kansas. She never expects it to go viral--or for Trek Magazine to send travel writer Gerard Fortier to feature the bakery. He's definitely handsome, but Bri has been holding out for a love story

Rescued by the Hero by Mandi Blake Review

Good Morning Friends :) I was actually hoping to have had this review out for all of you yesterday, but alas, I had more complications with recovery from my surgery and ended up spending six hours in emergency last night, and not making it home until almost one in the morning. Unfortunately, I still can't know for certain when my blog is going to be back to normal updates, but I do have a new review for you all today from one of my all time favorite authors. If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you're probably familiar with Mandi Blake and her beautiful, faith based romance reads. Today, I'm excited to share with you all about her upcoming release. Especially when it doesn't fee

Everywhere to Hide by Siri Mitchell Review

Hello Friends :) It's been a very, very long time since my last post, and for that I have to apologize. Unfortunately, I've had a very challenging few weeks, and I have yet to figure out when I'm going to be able to get my blog back to it's regular uploading schedule.   I'd talked a bit before about the spiritual warfare battle I've been fighting, then my hubby and I ended up taking a vacation for part of September, and less then a week after we returned home I ended up hospitalized for almost a week. I've been dealing with a weird pain in my side on and off for 22 years now, and have had so many doctors over the years think my appendix needs to come out. After this particular flare up, a surgeon finally did an exploratory surgery and now 22 years later, my appendix has finally been removed and the pain has disappeared. Unfortunately, the surgery was kind of rough, and the recovery has not been easy. I ended up back in the emergency room last night as my sto

Searching for Certainty: Finding God in the Disruptions of Life by Shelly Miller

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I recently had a chance to read an upcoming Christian non fiction title, and today I'll be sharing with all of you what I thought about it. Searching for Certainty: Finding God in the Disruptions of Life by Shelly Miller: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: October 13th, 2020 Genre: Christian Non-Fiction Synopsis: We all long for certainty in life, yet things often don't go as we expect. When facing illness, job loss, strained relationships, and other struggles, our impulse is to question God and strive to fix things ourselves. In this book, Shelly Miller, a trusted ministry leader, explores how difficult times can actually be purposeful times of spiritual growth. Weaving the exodus story from the Bible with her own story, she shares how to focus on God rather than trying to overcome chal
