Truly Madly Sheeply by Heather Vogel Frederick Review

 Warmest Welcome Friends :)

I'm so thankful you decided to join me (Kirby) here on The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

I adore many different genres as a reader, and one of those is middle grade. I feel like I maybe don't focus as much on this genre on my blog as I do some of my other favorites, but honestly, a lot of my favorite series and titles can be found within this genre.

One of my favorite authors is Heather Vogel Frederick, and I always look forward to her new book releases.

Her Pumpkin Falls Mystery series is an absolute favorite, and yet this is actually the first time I'm reviewing one of these titles for my blog.

This particular title was another one that I included in my 2023 Most Anticipated Releases Post, and today I can't wait to tell you whether or not it lived up to the hype I had for it.

Keep reading down below to find out.

Truly Madly Sheeply by Heather Vogel Frederick:

Source: Gift From My Hubby

Publisher: Simon Schuster Books For Young Readers

Publication Date: August 22nd, 2023

Genre: Middle Grade/Mystery

Series: Pumpkin Falls Mystery

Synopsis:

The Pumpkin Falls Private Eyes face a pumpkin snatcher and a haunted farm in the fourth and final cozy mystery of the Edgar Award–nominated middle grade series from the author of the beloved Mother-Daughter Book Club books.

It’s autumn in New England and Truly and her fellow Pumpkin Falls Private Eyes are gearing up for the annual Halloween Festival. Aunt True and her new husband, Rusty, have bought Ethel and Elmer Farnsworth’s dilapidated old farm on the edge of town, where they’re going to raise sheep and where Truly and her grandparents have volunteered to farm- and sheep-sit while the newlyweds are on their honeymoon.

But as always, there are mysteries and secrets afoot in Pumpkin Falls. Jack-o’-lanterns outside the shops downtown are going missing—in broad daylight! Plus, someone…or something…is trying to scare Truly’s aunt and uncle away from their new property with some seriously spooky hauntings.

With the arrival of Emilio, a new heartthrob student from Italy, and with Calhoun most definitely still in the picture, Truly has her hands full and will need all of her Private Eyes to help her solve the small town shenanigans this fall season.

My Review:

Truly Madly Sheeply is the fourth installment in Heather Vogel Frederick's wonderful Pumpkin Falls Mystery Series, and it ended up being everything I was hoping for and more. I've adored every title in this series, and was especially looking forward to this one since fall is my favorite season. It did not disappoint, and I found myself truly taking my time with this one as I never wanted to see it come to an end.

Readers are taken back to the idyllic small town of Pumpkin Falls, this time during the fall season right before Aunt True's wedding to Rusty. The newlyweds make an impromptu purchase-a run down farm on the edge of town that they decide to turn into a sheep farm. Of course, Lovejoys wouldn't be Lovejoys if they didn't jump into help, and soon Truly finds herself being able to add shepherdess to the long list of things she never expected to find herself doing. Only, the sheep seem to come with a mystery, and no one can explain the strange comings and goings at the farm that'll take the Pumpkin Falls Private Eyes being back on the case to get to the bottom of what's truly going on.

Idyllic, atmospheric and adorable, Truly Madly Sheeply is the perfect fall read, and I loved that it had a little bit of everything. While this series overall has been more heartwarming and cozy which I've loved, I also enjoy the fact that it dives into familial struggles. I appreciated the fact that the reader is shown just how much Truly has grown as a character between the first book until now.

Another one of my favorite reads of the year, and even though I'm sad that this is supposed to be the last book in the series, I'm thankful the author gave it the send off it deserves, and I hope whatever her next project is, that I'll love it as much as I did this one.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
