Hello All My Fellow Readers :)

Today's topic is "Worst Love Interests." This is my first negative Top 5 Wednesday post, and I'm excited to jump right in, and share my picks with all of you. One thing I will say before I start however, is that a lot of the love interests I've chosen may result in a minor spoiler for some people who haven't read the earlier books in some of the series I've chosen. As I hate spoilers, I also hate spoiling anything for anyone else, so it might be in your best interest not to read this post if you haven't read these particular books :)
1) Theo from The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen: Sarah Dessen is one of my all time favorite authors. I first fell in love with her way back when as a teenager when I read That Summer shortly after it was published. I've continued to love her books throughout the years, with the exception of this one, and that was largely in part due to Theo's character. I spent most of the time reading this novel wondering what on earth Emaline could possibly see in him, and this pick wasn't just because I didn't like the characters together, no I honestly didn't like Theo's character at all, and could not figure out why Emaline could possibly have wanted to be with him in the first place.
2) Alex from Delirium by Lauren Oliver: I really enjoyed this book, and I loved both Lena and Alex as characters, but I just never felt that they fit together. Their romance, to me, just never made sense and I personally shipped Julian over Alex, as I just felt he was a better fit with Lena. (You'll noticed a trend with my picks today. A lot of them are love triangles that I personally just didn't like one character as much as the other).
3) Tom from The Immortal City series by Scott Speer: Immortal City is another one of my all time favorite books. I absolutely loved this novel to pieces, and Maddy and Jackson remain one of my all time favorite book pairings. I personally couldn't stand when Scott Speer brought Tom into the story. His character, in my opinion, didn't have much purpose in the first place, and his romance with Maddy felt really rushed and unrealistic to me. I loved Maddy and Jackson together, and I just didn't understand Maddy's infatuation with Tom at all!
4) Gale from The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins: When I first saw this topic on the Top 5 Wednesday group, Gale was the first character that jumped out at me. While I did like his character overall, in my opinion, he could just never compete with Peeta. I loved Peeta's character so much, and I loved how his and Katniss' personalities seemed to balance each other so well. I was definitely team Peeta, and not team Gale.
5) Lastly, Jacob Black from the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer: This was a really hard pick for me, because I love love love Jacob's character. One of my favorite parts of this series was watching the amazing friendship that develops between Jacob and Bella, and I remember being so bitter when I watched New Moon for the first time, that they totally changed my favorite part of that book. (For anyone wondering, it's the scene in the book where Jacob turns the music in the car off when they're going to the movies with Mike because he knows Bella doesn't like music, without her ever having told him so). But I could just never get on board with the idea of romance between the two of them. I was completely Team Edward from day one, and that has stayed that way no matter how many times I've read this book.
Those are my picks for my 5 worst love interests. I can't wait to see who everyone else picked :)
Thanks for reading everyone, and I'll see you all on Friday with a new book review!

I think I would've maybe liked Jacob more if he just stayed as her friend and didn't pine after her all the time. And the imprinting on her kid just took it too far haha. Great list!

Exactly! I'm glad to hear someone has the same opinion on Jacob that I did. Thanks for reading!
