Authors That Have Had Cameos In Their Adaptations

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me today here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I'm sure a lot of you have now watched and loved To All The Boys I Loved Before on Netflix, and if you're anything like myself, you've probably become a little obsessed. I've currently watched it five times-twice with my husband-and I've encouraged all of my friends and family to watch it too.

They did such an amazing job adapting one of my all time favorite books, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the casting. But perhaps my favorite part of all was Jenny Han's brief cameo. I've always loved when authors cameo in the adaptations of their beloved novels, and I thought it would make a fun blog post to share some of my favorite cameos with you, and also some of the ones that I've found out about recently that I didn't know of before.

Jenny Han in To All The Boys I Loved Before:

This has definitely become one of my favorites. Jenny fit perfectly in the scene, and you could tell by the pure joy radiating off of her just how proud she was of seeing her beloved book be adapted for the screen.

Rachel Hauck in Once Upon A Prince:

I probably would have missed Rachel's cameo in her Hallmark movie if I hadn't been prepared for it ahead of time. Seeing her as a guest in the ball scene was kind of surreal, and I loved it.

Sara Shepard in Pretty Little Liars:

I was actually never truly a fan of the PLL books, and I didn't love the TV show either. I did watch it for awhile though, and I thought it was really neat that Sara Shepard had a cameo as a substitute teacher in one of the earlier episodes.

R.L. Stine in The Goosebumps Movie:

Growing up I never really got into Goosebumps as they kind of terrified me. However, I did watch the movie last year with my husband and we both really enjoyed it. I loved that R.L. Stine appears briefly, and that it was a fairly obvious cameo when compared to some others.

Stephenie Meyer in Twilight and Breaking Dawn Part 1:

I'm embarrassed to admit that these two were ones that I actually had no idea about until recently, which is honestly really sad considering I'm such a huge Twilight fan. Now that I've learned about them, I've gone back and watched both movies again looking for her appearances, and after seeing it I'm really shocked I missed it in the first place.

Emily Giffin in Something Borrowed:

I'm not really a fan of Emily's books anymore, just because I'm not really into reading about affairs, and I've noticed they often play a prominent part in her stories. However, for whatever reason I really did enjoy Something Borrowed and Something Blue, and I loved the movie adaption of the former, especially since it starred Ginnifer Goodwin. Not only did I love that the movie had a brief cameo by Emily, but I loved the fact that she's reading Something Blue in said cameo.

Kathryn Stockett in The Help:

I loved The Help when I saw it in theaters, and although it took me a few years after to get around to reading the book, I loved it too when I finally did. However, I honestly had no idea that the author of it, Kathryn Stockett, has a brief cameo in the movie adaptation. Now that I've found this out, I'm really looking forward to going back to watch the movie again to try and find her.

Have there been any author cameos that have taken you guys by surprise? I'd love to hear what some of your favorites are, as I seriously love when this happens in screen adaptations.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day, and I'll see you all again soon for more bookish content.
