Autumn by the Sea by Melissa Tagg Review

 Hello Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

I'm Kirby, and welcome to my little bookish corner of the internet.

There's a lot of things I love about being a book blogger, but perhaps my favorite part of it is getting to highlight wonderful titles on my blog that shine a light for Jesus and give Christian readers something to be able to enjoy without having to compromise on their beliefs and values.

Melissa Tagg is an author that I know I can always count on to deliver such stories, and I'm beyond excited to get to review another of her titles today for you all.

I hope you'll all join me down below for today's full review.

Autumn by the Sea by Melissa Tagg:

Source: Gift from my Hubby

Publisher: Larkspur Press

Publication Date: September 28th, 2021

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary/Small Town Romance

Series: Muir Harbor

Synopsis:

Abandoned as a toddler, Sydney Rose has spent years wondering who she really is, homesick for a life she's never lived. When a private investigator crashes into her world, she finds herself heading to a tiny seaside town in Maine to meet a woman named Maggie, who's searching for the granddaughter she lost decades ago.

If not for Maggie, Neil MacKean might still be back in Scotland, bereft and alone. Instead, he has a full life in Muir Harbor with an adopted family he loves and a blueberry farm to run. But the farm is struggling and strange occurrences have him concerned. Worse, Maggie's once again caught up in the past, convinced she's finally found her long-lost granddaughter.

Worried for Maggie, Neil is suspicious of the city girl who shows up at the farm. But there's something about Sydney that tugs on him, drawing out secrets he never meant to share. While Neil grapples with the future of the farm, Sydney wrestles with a past that's messier than ever. Together, they're pulled into a mystery complete with a centuries-old legend, unexpected danger . . . and a love as deep and wild as the sea.

My Review:

I've been highly anticipating reading this one ever since the author first announced it, and I finally got the chance to do so. Without a doubt, Autumn by the Sea is a new favorite, and I cannot wait to dive right into the next book.

If you're a fan of small town romances with a touch of mystery, then I can guarantee this is not one you're going to want to miss. As someone who fall is their favorite season, I can't say enough about how much I adored the cozy, autumn vibes that are present throughout the entire story.

Our two main protagonists, Sydney and Neil, did not have traditional upbringings, and it's left both of them with more questions than answers as to why they weren't wanted by their families in the way they should have been. When they're thrown together under strange circumstances, Neil is instantly suspicious of this strange woman who seems to be more than she seems, and runs the risk of hurting one of the people he cares about most in the world. As the two form a somewhat shaky friendship, they begin to discover that there's more to each other than meets the eye, and there's a lot simmering under the surface about their pasts that has yet to be revealed.

A beautiful story that reminds us all that no matter where we come from, we're all God's children and He will never leave us or forsake us the way the world so often seems too. The setting is beautiful, the romance is swoon worthy and adorkable in all the best ways, and the strong family bond that exists between all the Muir siblings was spot on and perfect, and sets the rest of the series up perfectly.

This ended up being another of my favorite reads of the year so far, and I can't wait to continue on with the rest of the series. If Muir Harbor were a real place, I would definitely be one of the ones checking into the innovative airbnb that's mentioned within this story.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I couldn't have enjoyed this more, and I can't recommend it enough. I was reminded once again why Melissa Tagg is one of my all time favorite authors.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
