Birthday and Miscellaneous book haul

Good evening all my fellow book lovers :) I hope everyone is having a great start to their week. Unfortunately for me, I've been feeling a little under the weather for the last couple of days, and have been just trying to pull through work so that I can come home to wrap up in a blanket and curl up with a good book. And as you'll see in this haul, I currently have my pic of some pretty amazing books to curl up with.  This haul will be a collective book haul from Boxing Day (except for the book outlet order which I did a separate post on), through my birthday last week. And it will be my last big book haul for awhile as I'm gonna try and be good as we have something coming up in the spring that I know I'll be getting lots of books from. Here's my haul:
First, we visited our local used bookstore shortly after Christmas. I really love supporting this bookstore, as not only are the prices great, but it is entirely a charity store, and all profits go to the local animal shelter, which just happens to be where we recently got our kitten from. It always makes me feel good to know I'm helping support such a great cause. I left this bookstore with seven books, and the best part: it only cost $6.25 for all seven books which was an amazing deal. I got:
Better Than Chocolate by Sheila Roberts. I received a book from this series for Christmas, and I was having trouble getting a hold of this one, the first one, so I was super excited to see it there.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett, which has been on my TBR list since I first watched the movie in the theatre.
A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks. I've already read this one, but I am a huge fan of most of his books and am trying to collect my own copies of them.
Lastly, I purchased four Debbie Macomber books, which as everyone knows, is one of my all time favorite authors. I got Mrs. Miracle, which I've already read, and then The Manning Sisters, The  Manning Brides, and The Manning Grooms. None of which I've read before.
Next, I was super excited to see Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass included in indigo's Boxing Day Sale. Since it was an amazing price, and the Selection series is one of my all time favorite series, I went ahead and ordered it. And I'm so happy I did cause this bind up is gorgeous! I think I've already read everything included in it, but I'm so excited to finally own the whole collection of the novellas.
One of the most hyped books I heard about in 2015 was Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, I had really been wanting to order it, but I just couldn't justify doing so when I had such a huge TBR pile already at home. However, my hubby and I were picking up a few things at Shoppers Drug Mart one night and I saw they had it for 25% off, and I still had a gift card to there from the previous Christmas with just enough to purchase it with. So I went ahead and ordered it and I can't wait to read it!
Next, I happened to get a couple of free books with my indigo plum points. To anyone unfamiliar with this program, when you shop at any Indigo store(Indigo, Coles, Chapters), or off www.indigo.ca, you can earn reward points with the free plum card. I had been accumulating my points for quite some time, and I'd finally saved up enough to redeem ten dollars, which is basically a free YA paperback. However, right before my birthday, I got an email that Indigo was running a weekend promotion that they were upping everyone's reward points to the next level. So for me, this meant my points being doubled, and I got upped to the 20 dollar reward level, which was uber exciting and was basically an early birthday present. I picked out three books:
The Comeback Season by Jennifer E Smith: I adore her books, and this is one I actually haven't read yet.
Unspoken by C,C, Hunter which is the last book in the Shadow Falls After Dark series which I've anxiously been awaiting,
And Her Holiday Family by Winnie Griggs, which is a Love Inspired Historical that I've been meaning to read for awhile, and with the 20 dollar reward credit, I only ended up spending a few dollars on these three books.
Lastly, my hubby took me to Chapters, and let me pick out a few books for my birthday presents. I ended up actually picking out six books I've never read before which is unusual for me. Usually I always end up picking out at least one book that I've read and just want to own, but this time I went all with new ones:
Landry Park by Bethany Hagen: I've heard mixed reviews on this one, but I've been really wanting to read it for quite some time.
My Secret To Tell by Natalie D Richards: I loved her first two books, Six Months Later and Gone Too Far.
Alice In Zombieland by Gena Showalter: I received books three and four in this series for Christmas so decided to pick up the first one.
Royally Lost by Angie Stanton: I've been loving the Jamieson Collection by her, and I'm a huge sucker for the famous or royal person falling in love with the regular person type of novel, so this seemed right up my alley.
Toxic Heart by Theo Lawrence, the sequel to Mystic City which I also received for Christmas.
And lastly, So Much Closer by Susane Colasanti, who I've never read before but have been wanting to.

That's it for my birthday and miscellaneous book haul, and hopefully I'll have enough willpower to make this my last big book haul for awhile. I hope everyone's having a great weekend, and I will catch up with you all in my next post.

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
