May 2016 Book Haul

Hello All My Fellow Readers :)

I'm once again so sorry for having to take a full week off from my blog! Unfortunately, health issues don't usually come when it's convenient for us, so I had to follow doctor's orders, and enjoy bed rest for a week. I am so glad to finally be done with the IV, as I was going completely stir crazy not being able to do anything. but I did have a ton of free time on my hands to read. It's honestly probably embarrassing just how many books I went through in the last week, and I'll be talking about them all in my May and June wrap ups.

Today I want to do a post that was meant to go up last week, and that is my May 2016 book haul! I'll also hopefully be posting my May 2016 wrap up this week as well!

It probably seems a little ridiculous that today's post is going to be another book haul, especially considering my last post was my giant haul from RT, but after coming home from the convention, I decided to  order some books from Indigo, since I still had gift cards left from Christmas, and I decided to wait until May to do so, since I'd already received so many books in April at the convention itself. Of course, I should have probably been on a book buying ban, but Book Outlet announced their mother's day sale, and then Indigo put on another sale, and yeah I kind of ended up buying way more books this month than I planned on, but oh well, I'll just try and be more diligent about it in June. :)

Here's my book haul for the month of May :)

First off, when we returned from RT, I decided to use my Indigo gift cards that I'd saved from Christmas and my birthday to purchase a few books.

These were my four picks:

Walk The Edge by Katie McGarry: I'd obviously been wanting this one since it's release a month or so earlier, because Katie is one of my all time favorite authors, but after meeting her, I wanted it even more, and decided to go ahead and pick it up. I can't wait to read this one, since I loved the first one in the series so much.

The Siren by Kiera Cass: Kiera Cass will always be one of my all time favorite authors, and I can't wait to dive into this book. I will hopefully be reading it really soon.

The Return: Legacy of Secrets by Ridley Pearson: I had to have the new Kingdom Keepers novel without a doubt, and I'm super excited to dive back into this world.

The Natural History Of Us by Rachel Harris: I really loved the first book in this series, and once again, after seeing how amazing Rachel was in person, I decided to go ahead and purchase this one, and I hope to get to reading it really soon.

I can honestly say that I didn't have a ton of interest in adult coloring books, and I just didn't see myself being the type of person who would ever use one. And then Debbie Macomber and Kiera Cass both announced upcoming coloring books, and I may have had to change my mind lol. Kiera's isn't coming out until December, but Debbie's was released recently, and of course my friend had to text me and tell me that they got it in at her workplace, and yes, I did decide to go ahead and buy it.

I'm already loving the various pictures from her novels, and even though I haven't had a chance to color in it yet, I'm really excited to get to do so.

Next, my husband and I have both been interested in reading Julie Kagawa's Talon series, since we received the second book from RT, and so he decided to go ahead and order the first and the third book.

I really did enjoy the books I read in Julie's Iron Fey series, so I'm really excited to start this one as well.

I also ended up having enough Indigo points to redeem ten dollars, but I hadn't planned on using any of them, as I honestly had way more books than I could ever possibly need at this point, but then Indigo did a one day sale on The Crown by Kiera Cass for release day for 7.50, and I just couldn't pass that up. Of course, I just had to order enough to qualify for free shipping to home, so I ended up with another four books being shipped to my house. Oops :)

First I ordered A Gift To Remember by Melissa Hill, as I really enjoyed Something From Tiffany's by her, and this particular book was one of the bargain books, and was less than six dollars.

They also had Me Before You by Jojo Moyes on a featured half price sale, and I definitely took advantage of that, since I've been dying to read it, and I've been on the waiting list at the library for quite some time.

I also ordered Christmas Under Western Skies by Anna Schmidt and Linda Ford, since I'm also a sucker for Christmas novels.

And finally, I ordered The Crown by Kiera Cass, which I'm super hesitant to read, as I don't want to see one of my favorite series of all time finally come to an end. :(

And finally, I decided to take advantage of Book Outlet's mother's day sale, since it's always so hard to resist their amazing prices, and I ended up ordering thirteen books.

First, I decided to be a nice wife, and order my hubby a couple of books, and I got him:

Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes,

and Mortal Gods by Kendra Blake.

Next, I decided to order How (not) To Fall In Love by Lisa Brown Roberts, since it's been on my wish list forever, and since she was so sweet in person, I really wanted to give her book a chance.

I also purchased Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson, and Isla and The Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins, both of which I've already read and loved, and wanted to own my own copies of. And it was really hard to resist for the amazing prices they were during the sale.

After reading Nil by Lynne Matson earlier in May, I knew I had to grab the sequel, Nil Unlocked, and I was really thankful Book Outlet had this one. I hope to get to this one really soon.

I also got one of my all time favorite YA mystery novels, and that's Little White Lies by Katie Dale.

I'm completely loving Maggie Hall's Conspiracy Of Us series, and since I know it's going to be a reread series for me in the future, I went ahead and grabbed the first book.

I also ordered Cinderella's Dress by Shonna Slayton, which I'd never actually heard of before, but since it was one of the 99 cents books, I figured that even if I don't end up liking it, it's definitely not much of a loss.

Lastly, I ordered Mirage by Kristi Cook, since I own the other two, I can know marathon the series when I get to it.

Lux Opposition by Jennifer L Armentrout, since this remains one of my favorite series, and I really want to own it.

The Here and Now by Ann Brashares, which I know a lot of people really didn't like, but I actually really enjoyed this one.

And The Queen Of Bright and Shiny Things by Ann Aguirre which I've mentioned numerous times on my blog just how much I love!

That's it for the books I bought in May 2016! I'm excited to be back on Wednesday for Top 5 Wednesday, since I missed out on last week's topic!

Thanks for reading everyone, and I'll see you in my next post :)
