Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Wish Had Sequels

Hi guys,

I'm really excited for this week's Top 5 Wednesday topic: Books You Wish Had Sequels (Standalones that you wish had a sequel or the last book in a series that you wish wasn't the last).

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it's a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey on Youtube, and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes, also from Youtube. The group communicates through goodreads, and here's the link to the page if you're interested in learning more about it.

This topic was a really fun one to do, as there's been many times that I've finished a story, and instantly longed to hear more about the amazing characters I'd just fallen completely in love with.

Here's my five pics:

1) The Vampire Stalker by Alison Van Diepen:

Pretty much right from when I first opened this book, I was drawn completely into this amazing world that Alison Van Diepen had created. On top of this being such a cute fangirl novel, about a girl Amy, who's in love with the hero, Alexander, from her favorite book series, it was also such an original concept, and unlike anything I'd ever read before. With Alexander and Amy's world's colliding when a portal happens to bring him into the modern world, the two must work together to stop the sinister forces at play that followed him through the portal. I loved this whole novel from start to finish, and I adored the characters, the writing style, and the unusual take on vampires, and I would honestly love to see more on these characters in the future. Even a companion novel about some other characters from the series would be awesome in my opinion! I highly recommend trying this book if you haven't already.

2) The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E Smith:

This is by far my favorite of Jennifer E Smith's novels, and Hadley and Oliver's romance was downright adorable. Considering everyone knows I'm not a fan on insta-love, you can see just how big of an impression this book made on me that I love it as much as I do. On top of the adorable romance, I also loved how it's about Hadley needing to come to terms with huge changes in her family, and that the majority of it takes place in London. I loved how Jennifer E Smith wrote the novella Happy Again, as a continuation  of This Is What Happy Looks Like, and I'd love to see her do this with this novel as well, as I feel there's so much more about Hadley and Oliver that I'd still love to know.

3) My Life With The Walter Boys by Ali Novak:

While I am aware that this one technically already has a sequel on Wattpad, I've heard many times that the Wattpad original novel is quite different than the published version, and as such, the sequel doesn't fit with reading the published one. However, I loved this book so very much that I'm honestly hoping Ali continues on with making it a series in the future. I've stated over and over again how much I loved this book, and how Ali Novak is one of my all time favorite authors, and I would love to get to see more of Jackie's story in the future. If you've never read Ali Novak before, I highly recommend doing so, as her book's are amazing.

4) Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson:

This is another case of me loving the characters so much that I just didn't want to see their story come to an end. I'd love the opportunity to see how their story continues on, and I also would love to see another book in this series that had all the amazing "scrapbooky" items that Morgan Matson included throughout. I feel I've been picking Morgan Matson's books for a lot of topics lately, but I just honestly love her books that much.

5) The Host by Stephenie Meyer:

My last pick for this week's topic is Stephnie Meyer's The Host. Now I think I could have been content honestly with how this one ended, especially since it was such a large book, and as such, we got lots of time with the characters. However, the fact there  was originally supposed to be two more books in this series, has me so upset now that it sounds like she's not continuing on with this plan. I could have been content without them, but after we were sort of promised them, now I have a hard time accepting this book as a stand alone, and I know this is a topic that my friend and I have discussed at great lengths many times.

Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you enjoyed my choices, and I can't wait to see which books everyone else chose for this awesome topic!

A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often.
