The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Good Morning Everyone :)

I hope your day's off to a great start, and that your finding lots of time to curl up with amazing reads.

For today's post, I thought it would be fun to do another book tag, as once again, it has been quite awhile since I last did one.

This one is especially kind of fun, as it's a bit more personal than the normal book tags are, and is going to focus more around my blogging habits. I'm not personally sure who started this one unfortunately, but I can't wait to get started on it.

I present,

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag.

How Long Have You Been A Blogger?

This was my very first blog, and I started it on September 20th, 2015. I'd wanted to start a blog forever, and that was the day I finally took the plunge and did it. For the first year or so, my posting schedule was extremely sporadic, but in 2016 I got more serious about it, and started trying to stick to a Monday, Wednesday and Friday timeline for new posts.

At What Point Do You Think You Will Stop?

Honestly, never I hope. I really enjoy my blog, and even though some weeks I don't have time to do all three posts, I do still try my best to post as much as I can. My blog is one of my favorite things and I don't foresee that changing. In the future, I'd love to branch out a bit more and maybe blog about some new things, or possibly even start a Booktube channel to compliment my blog.

What Is The Best Part?

For me, I'd have to say it's having a creative outlet. My life sometimes gets hectic and my job isn't in a field I'm super interested in, so my blog is a way that I feel I can experience the world of books, and share about them with other book lovers. I also love the community within the bookish social media groups, and I've met so many amazing people since I first started my blog.

What Is The Worst Part?

I'd generally say finding the time to keep up with my updating schedule, and also, finding the time to promote new books across so many different platforms. Some days, when work has been super exhausting, it's hard to keep up with release date promo's and such, but that isn't to say I don't enjoy doing so. I still love helping to promote new books, it's just sometimes hard when release days fall on my busiest days at work.

How Long Does It Take You To Create/Find Pictures To Use?

For my blog, this isn't really an issue for me. However, it takes me forever to take my Bookstagram photos. I try and make sure the pictures are set up exactly the way I want, and I often end up never posting a bunch of the ones I take as I'm not happy with the lighting in the photo.

Who's Your Book Crush?

This is such a hard question honestly. One of my favorite book boyfriends from all time is still Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss. I also still really love Edward Cullen, and there's so many book boyfriends I love from the many Christian fiction titles I devour on a regular basis.

What Author Would You Love To Have On Your Blog?

Debbie Macomber hands down! She's been my favorite author for as long as I can remember, and I'd die if I had the opportunity to host her on my blog.

What Do You Wear When You Write Your Blog Posts?

For me this depends on what time of day I'm writing my posts. Quite often I'm doing them while I'm in my PJ's, or in my work clothes since I often finish editing my posts before I go to work for the day.

How Long Does It Take You To Prepare A Post?

This definitely depends on the type of post I'm preparing, but I'd probably say that the average is an hour to an hour and a half. I sometimes write my posts in a notebook first, then format them into a blog post, and then do a final editing session the day I post them.

How Do You Feel About The Book Blogging Community/Culture?

I love being a part of such an amazing community. From the first day I started book blogging, I really felt like I'd found my little corner where I was completely happy to be. I love how encouraging so much of the book community is, and I've met so many amazing people along the way. I also love how many amazing books I've discovered from being a part of this amazing community.

What Do You Think One Should Do To Have A Successful Blog?

My best advice would be to never give up. Nobody's blog becomes an instant success, and it requires lots of hard work and dedication to actually get it to go somewhere. I also think it's important to make sure you're communicating with others in the book community, and remember that blogging isn't supposed to be a solitary venture. Interact with other bloggers, booktubers, bookstagrammers, etc, and take part in weekly memes and such like Top Ten Tuesday or Top Five Wednesday. Most of all, be prepared that it might take a long time before you start seeing regular visitors to your blog, and make sure you're blogging for the right reasons. Never start book blogging just to get ARCS and free books as that's not what our community is supposed to be about.

And there you guys go! You now know more of my blogging process. I'd love to hear in the comments if you're process is similar or different from mine. Let me know, as there's nothing I love more than connecting with you all in the comments section!

Have a great rest of your day guys!

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
