The Disney Book Tag :)

Happy Monday All My Fellow Readers!

It's the start of another work week, and that would be kind of depressing, but it's gorgeous outside today, and I've got a really fun book tag to post today.

I know I said that today's post would be my vacation wrap up, but I'm having some trouble with a few of the photos not wanting to export, and I don't think the post would be the same without them.

So instead I decided to first share some exciting news with all you guys, and then participate in a book tag that coordinates with my news.

I'm not sure if I've truly mentioned on my blog before or not, but I am a self professed Disney fanatic. Disney movies are my favorites, I'm constantly listening to Disney music, I love Disney books, like The Kingdom Keepers series, and Disney is my absolute favorite vacation destination. Hence the princess part of my blog name. :)

For as long as I can remember, my parent's had been talking about taking us to Disneyland, and in November of 1999 when I was 11 years old, that trip happened! Despite the fact that my parent's had divorced a couple of years prior, they still banded together to make good on this long promised vacation, and from that first moment, my mom and I were completely hooked on  Disney.

Unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards for us to return for a few years, and when I got my first job at 15 I knew that that's what I wanted to save for, was to treat my family to a Disneyland vacation, the same way that I'd been treated to one four years prior. We traveled in March of 2014, and that vacation meant the world to my mom. Since then, Disney has become our favorite travel destination, and my mom and I have taken a total of five Disneyland vacations together in 99, 04, 05, 08, and 09.

However, I had never been to Disney World, and when my hubby and I first started dating in 2009, hard as it is to believe, not only had he never been to Disney, he'd actually never really been anywhere. So Disney World ended up being our first vacation together, in August of 2010, and we've taken five Disney World trips together and also one Disney cruise. And he loves it just as much as I do. In fact, we got engaged at Cinderella's Royal Table, and honeymooned at Disney World as well!

So that long winded introduction is leading up to the special announcement, that guys Neil and I are going back to Disney World next month!!!! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am (although I do hope to someday soon take another Disney vacation with my Momerz as well), and to celebrate the fact that our vacation is coming up so soon, I'm going to be doing the Disney book tag today! And guys, honestly, I don't think I've ever been so excited to take part in a tag before, as Disney and books are two of the things I love most in the world, so combining them is pretty much the stuff of dreams. :)

This tag was created by Katytastic on Youtube, and you should definitely check out her video if you haven't already.

Here's the tag post finally :)

The Little Mermaid: A character who is out of their element: A "fish out of water:"

For this one, I'm going with Jackie from My Life With The Walter Boys by Ali Novak. Besides the fact The Little Mermaid is my all time favorite Disney movie, and this is one of my all time favorite books, I picked Jackie for this one because she's definitely out of her element living with eleven boys, and one tomboy.

Cinderella: A Character Who Goes Through A Major Transformation:

Violet from The Lone City series by Amy Ewing. Violet's character starts out as basically accepting her fate, and thinking she can't do too much about it. However, Violet soon learns just what can happen if she stands up for herself, and I honestly cannot wait for the third book to see where this attitude takes her!

Snow White: A book with an eclectic cast of characters:

Ridley Pearson's Kingdom Keepers. I love how Finn, Maybeck, Charlene, Willa, Philby, Jess and Amanda are all so vastly different, and yet all learn to work together for the cause. This is one of my all time favorite book series, and I love how Ridley has incorporated so much Disney information in with this fantasy series.

Sleeping Beauty: A book that put you to sleep:

I was anticipating loving this one, but oh my goodness I just couldn't get into it, and found myself drifting off every time I picked it up. I did push through and finish it, but it took me forever to do so.

The Lion King: A character that had something traumatic happen to them in childhood:

Cinder had a horrific tragedy happen to her under the "care" of her stepmother, and obviously it changed her whole life. I'm not going to say too much else about it, as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, but her experience was definitely horrific, and was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this question.

Beauty and The Beast: A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful:

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. When I first picked this up at the library, by the size of it I thought it would take me awhile to finish it. I ended up falling completely in love with this amazing story of friendship, and first love, and ended up breezing right through it. It's definitely a beautiful story, and demonstrates once again, just how amazing Morgan's writing is.

Aladdin: A character who get's their wish granted, for better or for worse:

Alina from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Alina's spent her whole life watching from the sidelines, and just wants a chance at the spotlight. She finally gets it, but it's definitely not as easy as she always thought it would be.

Mulan: A character who pretends to be something their not:

For this one I'm going with Cammie Morgan from I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter. Especially in this first book in The Gallgher Girls series, Cammie can't let on to Josh or his friends that she's a spy, and it leads to some pretty hilarious and awkward situations.

Toy Story: A book with characters you wish would come to life:

Oh my goodness this one was so hard to choose, as there's so many amazing books and corresponding amazing characters out there, but I'm going to have to go with Vampire Academy and Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. I've invested so much time in these books, that these characters have literally started to feel like family, and I would love the chance to get to meet each and every one of them.

Disney Descendants: your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character:

Team Warner Team Warner Team Warner!! Haha without a doubt my answer for this one has to be Warner from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I know a lot of people were unhappy with his character, but I really felt we saw a definite change from his earlier state, and also, that his childhood explained a lot for the reason he turned out the way he did. I was actually Team Warner right from the first book.

That's it for today's tag guys. I had so much fun doing this, and I highly recommend all of you guys doing it too, if you haven't already.

Thanks so much for reading, and I will see you all on Wednesday where I'll be getting back into the groove of Top 5 Wednesday.
