The Goodreads Book Tag

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you're all doing well, and that you're all having a fantastic summer.

Do any of you guys have fun vacations planned during the summer? My husband and I took a few days away to go away with my family for a small holiday, and it was really nice. Other than that we've just been enjoying day trips to the lake to use our boat, but I'm still crossing my fingers that a bigger trip might be in the works for us later in the year.

It's actually been quite awhile since I last did a book tag. And honestly I think it's mainly just because I've been finishing so many books that I wanted to review lately, that most of my posts have been book reviews. However, I've really been wanting to do another tag post lately, and so I decided the goodreads book tag looked like a good one. While I actually don't use some of the features on goodreads the way some people do, I really do love that website and I use it to track which novels I've finished, rating those novels, finding new books, doing quizzes and trivia and keeping up with upcoming book releases. I mainly just don't use the want to read, and other shelves features that often as I mainly just add books once I've actually finished reading them. However, I'm still really excited for this tag as I do love goodreads, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Do You Use The Star Rating System?

Yes, I definitely do. While I do sometimes wish that goodreads would allow half ratings, I do still rate each book I finish as I see fitting. When I first got goodreads, I quite often rated books I didn't like one star, and I don't tend to that too much anymore. I only use the one star rating if I absolutely found nothing redeemable about a book at all, and this is a rare occurrence for me now.

Are You Doing A 2018 Goodreads Reading Challenge?

Yes! I've set my goal at 215 books, and while I'm not positive if I'll make it or not, so far it's looking really good.

Do You Have A Wishlist?

I keep wishlists on both Amazon and Indigo but I'm honestly really bad at remembering to update them. Most of the time the books I'm wanting to buy/read are just either stored in my memory or scratched down on random pieces of paper. I really need to get better at this.

What Book Do You Plan To Buy Next?

This could change for me as it often does, but these are the two I'm currently really wanting to purchase:

It's Your Universe by Ashley Eckstein

and

Enchanted: A Christmas Collection by Melissa Tagg

Do You Have Any Favorite Quotes? Share A Few.

oh goodness this answer could go on and on, as I'm a huge fan of keeping track of quotes from all of my favorite books. Here's a couple though.

"A blank canvas has unlimited possibilites" Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.

"Funny thing about prayers. God hears them. But you just never know if, or when, He's going to answer them." My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade.

"He didn't give me flowers or candy. He gave me the moon and stars. Infinity." We'll always have summer by Jenny Han.

Who are your favorite authors?

Lol oh goodness this is going to be a very long list:

Debbie Macomber, Becky Wade, Kasie West, Kiera Cass, Katie McGarry, Amy Clipston, Sheila Roberts, Sarah Dessen, Ali Novak, Jenny Han, Morgan Matson, Melissa Tagg, Denise Hunter, Richelle Mead, Dani Pettrey, Colleen Coble, Jaime Jo Wright, Lisa Brown Roberts, Marissa Meyer, Robin Jones Gunn, Ally Carter, Rachel Hauck, and Ridley Pearson.

I'm sure there's lots more, but I think my answer's already long enough.

Have You Joined Any Groups?

Sadly, this is one part of goodreads that I'm really bad at. So far I've only joined the Top 5 Wednesday group, but I do hope to join more that appeal to me in the future.

Thanks so much for reading guys!

Here's where you can find my goodreads page if you're interested in seeing it! Have a great rest of your day :)

First Line Friday: Carolina Breeze

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun weekly meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. For this week's first line, I'm going to be sharing from Denise Hunter's recently released title that I ended up absolutely loving. Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter: About The Book: A jilted bride. A struggling innkeeper. And a romantic mountain getaway that changes everything. Rising Hollywood star Mia Emerson is looking for a safe place to land in the wake of a public breakup a...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
