Rematch by Erynn Mangum Review

 Hello Everyone :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

I can pretty much title my reading year in 2022 as the "year I fell in love with Erynn Mangum's books."

While I had read one of her titles previously, I ended up literally inhaling so many of her titles last year, and honestly loving every single one.

Her books are the books that young Christian girls desperately needed on the market, and I can't possibly recommend her writing enough.

Today I'm excited to share another review of one of her fantastic titles, and I hope you'll keep reading below for today's full review.

If you'd like to check out my review of the first title in the series, you can do so using the link below:

Miss Match

Rematch by Lauren Holbrook:

Source: Library

Publisher: Think

Publication Date: August 23rd, 2007

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary

Series: Lauren Holbrook

Synopsis:

With two matches under her belt, Lauren's ready to get back to work. Lucky for her, her job at The Brandon Knox Photography Studio makes it even easier to work her magic on her best friend and boss, Brandon, and the adorable receptionist, Hannah. And since she's at Shawn's café every day anyway (a girl's gotta feed her caffeine and chocolate addictions, doesn't she?), why not look for his perfect match as well? But with all her love-connection luck, Lauren's thrown for a loop when her dad announces that he's heading out of town for a singles' retreat. And in the midst of panicking about her dad and potential future stepmom, there's also the matter of Ryan: Love interest or friend? Only time, vats of coffee, and pounds of chocolate will tell!

My Review:

I fell instantly in love with this series from the first book, and I couldn't wait to continue on with reading the second title. I surprised myself by loving this one even more than the first, and I lost count of just how many times this book had me laughing out loud at Lauren's strange antics, and the interesting situations she always seems to find herself in.

The queen matchmaker is at it again, and this time she has two separate couples in mind to receive her God given talent of helping them realize what's right under her nose. On top of finding time to match make her friends, and keep her job at her best friend's photography studio though, life is about to throw her another curve ball: her dad has decided he's ready to date. In typical Lauren fashion, this causes immediate panic, and unimaginable scenarios, and she'll have to learn once again that God is sovereign over every detail, and that our job is to let go and let Him.

I could barely bring myself to put this one down once I picked it up, and I honestly never wanted to see it come to an end. I love absolutely everything about this series. And on top of the hilarity, hi jinks, and sweet romance, I can't express enough how much I love the genuine faith that's portrayed throughout, as Lauren's bumbling relationship with Jesus is definitely one of my favorite parts.

I also adore her and Ryan together, as I think he's one of the only people who could possibly be equipped to put up with her shenanigans.

Overall, this one was everything I was hoping for and more, and I can't wait to continue on with the rest of the series.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Definitely another new favorite, and one I will definitely be recommending.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
