Royal Themed YA Novels

Happy Monday Guys! I really wanted to get a blog post up for you today, as today begins the busiest week of the whole year at work, and I'm honestly not sure if I'll have time to post on Wednesday or Friday. However, I had a little bit of free time today, and so it seemed the perfect time to get a quick post up, and I'm going to do a book recommendations post since it's been quite awhile since I've last done one of these. If you've read some of my previous blog posts, you guys will remember that I'm a huge sucker for the "famous or royal person falling for the regular person" trope throughout all of the genres I read. A few months ago I was talking about this to my best friend, and ended up finding out that this is one of her favorite tropes as well. In fact, we've actually decided to start a book club for the two of us next month, and our first book pick is the Royal Wedding series by Rachel Hauck. Talking with her about this tr

Under A Maui Moon by Robin Jones Gunn

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Preppy Book Princess. I honestly didn't think I'd have time to post a review today, as I mentioned previously the next week and a half is a crazy busy time for us at work. However, I found myself with a few minutes to spare, and so I decided to go ahead and get this typed up and share my opinions on Under A Maui Moon with you all. Under A Maui Moon by Robin Jones Gunn: Source: Library Publisher: Howard Books Publication Date: July 6th, 2010 Synopsis: C arissa doesn’t know who she is anymore. She and her husband, Richard, are recent empty nesters; Richard is spending more and more time at work counseling his volatile clients and less time at home with his wife; his clients are starting to show up at the house at night causing Carissa to feel scared in her own home; and to top it all off, Carissa’s boss informs her that she’s been “let go.” She wonders where God is in all of this since He doesn’t seem to be around to pro

Current TBR Pile

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to the Preppy Book Princess. :) I'm Kirby, and today I'm excited to be sharing with all you guys the current books in my TBR Pile. I've mentioned before how June is always my least favorite month of the year. June brings with it several festivals, fairs and local rodeos to my hometown, and these mean work is going to be super busy right from now through Canada Day. It's definitely been a struggle already keeping up with everything, and I've been putting in a lot of nine and ten hour shifts, and that's probably going to be the norm for the next couple of weeks. As such, my downtime with my books is more important to me than ever, and I'm lucky to have some pretty amazing books in my TBR pile right now. 1) Under A Maui Moon and Canary Island Song by Robin Jones Gunn: One of the series I was definitely wanting to finish this year were all the novels about the "Forever Friends" by Robin Jones Gunn. Christmas On Candy Cane Lane by Sheila Roberts

Happy Monday Guys! It's a beautiful start to a new week, and I hope you all had a fabulous time celebrating your father and/or father figures yesterday :) I was blessed to be able to celebrate with both my father, and my stepfather, and just enjoyed getting to spend time with my various family members, especially my nephews. A couple of my friends and I have decided that we want to start our Christmas shopping next month. And while that might sound crazy to some people, to me it sounds like an amazing way to break up the expense, and be able to buy a couple gifts a month until Christmas, and actually be able to enjoy the month of December completely for a change. As you guys know, Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I tend to stay in the Christmas spirit at all times of the year, and as such, you can pretty much find me reading Christmas books anytime throughout the year. I've been working my way through Sheila Roberts' Life In Icicle Falls series,

Hallmark Book To Movie Adaptations For Christmas 2017 :)

Good Morning Guys, and Welcome Back to The Preppy Book Princess. I'm Kirby, and as always, I'm excited to be hear with y'all! Is anyone else's morning off to a bit of a rough start? I just managed to break my husband's favorite glass, and on top of feeling awful over doing so, I just got the fun job of cleaning up itty bitty pieces of broken glass all over my kitchen floor, and mopping up the milk that seemed to work its way into every crook and crevice in my kitchen. Oh well, nothing to do about it but move on, and hope and pray that the rest of the day can only go uphill from here. So considering this morning's events had me not in the greatest mood, I thought today's blog post would be the perfect way to cheer me up. If any of you aren't familiar with my blog, on top of loving books, cooking, and preppy fashion, I'm a huge fan of made for TV Christmas movies, with the Hallmark Channel's almost always being my favorites. I

If I Was... Book Tag

Hey Guys! I feel like every one of my blog posts lately starts out with an apology for my long absences, and this one is definitely going to be no different. Work had finally settled back down, and I had my blog back on a regular updating schedule, but of course chaos struck again. My job at the restaurant I work with you is split between two people. Myself and one of the guys I work with were both given the promotion to this position back in February, and since then I've been pulling more than my fair share of the work, but I honestly didn't really mind as I'm really loving my new position. However, a couple of weeks ago this other guy decided to take a second job, and drastically reduce his hours at the restaurant, and so my responsibilities have kind of doubled lately. I'm honestly loving the opportunity to get to learn how to do everything he was handling as well, and my boss has been absolutely amazing through everything, and has been so appreciative of
