A-Z About Me Tag

Hey Guys, I've been scrolling through a lot of tags lately, as you all know how much I love doing them, and I stumbled upon two different versions of an A-Z tag. First, I saw the A-Z About Me Tag on ClockWork Bibliophile's blog   and I discovered the A-Z Book Tag post on Habitat for Happiness' youtube channe l. I've decided I definitely want to do both of these tags, and so today I'm going to go ahead and do the A-Z About Me Tag. A) Age I Turned 29 in January of this year! I feel like i'm getting so old guys, but for the most part, I'm really happy with the way my life is right now. B) Book I'm Currently Reading: Yours Truly by Heather Vogel Frederick. I love her cute, middle grade reads, and I'm really enjoying the second book in her Pumpkin Falls series. C) Chore You Hate: Ugh the vacuum and I do not see eye to eye at all. I actually don't mind doing most housework, but I think partly because we have a black cat who likes

Book Review: #Summer of Yesterday by Gaby Triana

A couple of weeks ago I did a blog post on "Disney Themed YA and Middle Grade Books" which you can find here  and while doing so I actually came across many amazing sounding books that I'd never heard of before, some of which I didn't even have space to include in my post. One of those books was Summer of Yesterday by Gaby Triana, and I literally squealed when I read the description. I mean a YA contemporary summer romance read about time travel that takes place in Disney World? Lol it literally felt like they were marketing this book especially for me, and I knew I had to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, as you all know, I'm still on a book buying ban, and so thank goodness for our amazing local library. I went ahead and requested this one from our library, and I literally inhaled it in a couple of sittings. I completely loved it, and since it was a book that I'd never personally heard of before, and I'm a huge Disney person, I wanted to review

A Serious Issue That Bothers Me In Contemporary Literature

Guys, this is a post that I've honestly been debating doing for a long time. While I definitely always post honest reviews, and some of them are definitely not positive, I've never really talked about controversial issues on my blog before. However, the trope I want to talk about today is one that I'm seeing more and more lately, and after overhearing a conversation a couple of my young co-workers were having the other day, I decided it's definitely time for me to speak my mind about this. So what I want to talk about today is: Why Are Controlling Tendencies and Abuse Being Marketed As Romantic In Contemporary Fiction? I'll admit that I have definitely enjoyed a few novels that others have felt fell under this heading (like Twilight, and the Luxe Series) but I feel books are starting to get worse and worse this way with each year. This is by no means a new issue, it's been a popular trope in fiction for years and years, but it's starting to be

Alex and Ani Collection

Hey Guys, I hope you're all looking forward to a great weekend! I personally was planning this weekend for getting housework caught up, working on my blog, and curling up with some great books I have out from the library. Unfortunately, as we all know well, life rarely goes the way we plan, and yesterday I got the bad news that the girl who's position I'm taking at work had to take maternity leave a few weeks early, and didn't have much advance notice of having to do so.  So I'm a little stressed right now as to the huge amounts of work that just got dumped into my lap, that I was in no way prepared for, and so to put it mildly, my plans for this weekend have now been altered dramatically. I am still currently working on a book review that I'd planned to post today, but it's not finished and I don't want to deprive the book of the attention it still deserves, and so today I decided to do a fashion post instead. I fell in love with Alex and An

February 2017 Wrap Up

February was one of those months where I discovered some amazing books, and also, discovered some that I didn't end up enjoying at all. However, part of the fun of a wrap up post is sharing the bad with all the good, and so here's all the books I finished last month, and my ratings, thoughts and opinions on each. Sisterchicks Do The Hula by Robin Jones Gunn:  This definitely wasn't my favorite of the Sisterchick series, but I gave it three out of five stars, and I did still enjoy it overall. This one focuses on two friends who take a big trip to Hawaii to celebrate both of their fortieth birthdays, and learn to draw closer to their faith, and each other in the process. Up To This Pointe by Jennifer Longo:  I actually quite surprised myself with how much I ended up enjoying this one. I rated it three out of five stars, and I really liked getting to read about Antarctica and the harsh climate associated with it, and the researcher's that brave the clim
