Pretty Sly by Elisa Ludwig Review

Hello Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well. If you read my blog last week, you might remember that I shared my review for Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig, and that I hadn't really enjoyed it nearly as much as I expected to. However, since I already owned the second book, I decided to go ahead and read it anyways, and hope that I would end up enjoying it more than I enjoyed the first book. Pretty Sly by Elisa Ludwig: Source: Bought For Myself Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books Publication Date: March 18th, 2014 Genre: Young Adult/Contemporary Series: Pretty Crooked Synopsis: Sequel to Pretty Crooked... Willa Fox was told to stay out of trouble. In fact, it was an order from a very serious juvenile court judge. However, that was before Willa found her house ransacked and a mysterious email from her mother telling Willa she had to leave Paradise Valley for a while and not to come looking for her. Willa knows her mom’s in danger and that no one at sch

Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig Review

Hello Bookish Friends :) Happy Wednesday! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Mine has actually been really good, other than work being super crazily busy as we move into the last few days of summer here. I've recently started a new project which I've been talking about on my Instagram stories (@preppybookqueen), of redoing our library. It's never truly been a functional space before, and has more been a storage room with bookshelves in it, and I can't wait to get it all finished, and a have a cozy reading space just in time for fall. I've always dreamed of having my own library in my house. Lol I think watching Beauty and the Beast as a young child kind of influenced that dream. And I decided it was finally time to stop talking about it, and actually get to doing it. Once I get it all finished, I'll share a blog post about the finished product, but in the meantime if you're interested in seeing some of the process check out my Instagram.

BBQ Slow Cooker Cauliflower Recipe Share

Hello Everyone :) I'm so excited that summer is coming to an end, and that fall is just around the corner. Of course, I'm always thankful for all the beautiful seasons that our Heavenly Father chooses to bless us with, but there's no denying that fall is my favorite, and I'm always happy to see it coming around. Besides the beautiful colors, sweaters, riding boots, pumpkins and apples, I also love that fall is pretty much slow cooker season. There's so many amazing fall or winter slow cooker recipes, and today I'd like to share one with you all. It's been a long time since I last posted a recipe post, in fact I'm pretty sure my last one was during Blogmas, but I was really happy with how this recipe turned out, and I wanted to share it. This recipe came to be for three main reasons: 1) I really needed to go to the grocery store, and was kind of down to slim pickings in my fridge. 2) One thing I had left in my fridge was a head of caulif

Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg Review

Hello Everyone :) I feel like I haven't been doing too well on my reading challenge lately, and I honestly think it's because I kind of fell into a reading slump after reading a couple of disappointing books.  However, Melissa Tagg's amazing stories never fail to pull me back out of a reading slump, and while I'm anxiously awaiting my turn on the library waiting list for the next book in the Walker Family series, I thought I'd share with you all what I thought about book number two. Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg: Source: Library Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: April 5th, 2016 Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Series: Walker Family Synopsis: Maple Valley became Amelia Bentley's haven after her heart and her dreams of a family were shattered. Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Pulled You Out Of A Reading Slump

Hello Everyone :) It's been a loooong time since I last took part in Top Ten Tuesday, but I really liked this week's topic, and I decided it was definitely time to jump back into it. If you're unfamiliar, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and The Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl . This week's topic is ten books to pull you out of a reading slump, and it's a fun one for me cause I've had so many books that have helped me out of a reading slump, and I can't wait to talk about them. My most recent example of this is The Life Intended by Kristin Harmel. I hadn't been in too much of a reading mood during the middle of this month, and then I picked this one up off my bookshelf where it had been sitting for two and a half years. I'm so glad I finally took a chance on it, as the story was well written, perfectly paced, and had such an amazing ending that I've literally had to go back and rerea

Good morning guys! Thanks for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess. As you can tell from the title, today I'm going to be reviewing another Melissa Tagg book. I probably don't even need to do much of an intro as to how much I love this amazing woman's books, as I feel it's literally all I've talked about on my blog lately, so let's go ahead and jump straight into the review. From The Start by Melissa Tagg Review

Hello Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well, and I thank you for joining me for another book review today on The Preppy Book Princess. One of my favorite things is discovering a new favorite author. Especially if that author already has several books out, as it gives me reading material for quite some time, and that's what has just happened for me with discovering Melissa Tagg. I've been speedily working my way through her books, and I'm loving every single one so far. I couldn't wait to share my review of one of my favorites by her, and that's what I'm going to be sharing for today's post. From The Start by Melissa Tagg: Source: Library Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: April 7th, 2015 Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Series: Walker Family Synopsis Kate Walker used to believe in true love and happily ever after. While her own love life may have left her brokenhearted, it hasn't kep

The Summer of Cotton Candy by Debbie Viguie Review

Hello Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess. I am a huge fan of young adult fiction, but I definitely prefer to read the cleaner ones as much as possible. I've started to notice a trend that a lot of what's being aimed at the young adult market is really pushing the bar for what I consider acceptable, and I've started being a lot more careful about what I choose to pick up to read. Because of this trend, I've started looking more into Christian young adult books that I haven't read before, and I've actually ended up discovering quite a few. I happened to stumble upon the Sweet Seasons series on goodreads, and I knew it was definitely something I wanted to pick up and try out for myself. I finished the first one a little while ago, and today I want to share with all of you what I thought about it. The Summer of Cotton Candy by Debbie Viguie: Source: Library Pub

One More Wish by Robin Jones Gunn Review

Hey Guys :) I hope you're all doing well, and that you're all finding time to enjoy this beautiful summer. Do any of you have those series that really impacted your teen years? While I could probably list several different ones, one that really stood out above the rest was The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn. I read the original twelve stories when I was a young teenager and they had such an impact on my life. Since then I've gone on to read The Sierra Jensen series, The Glenbrooke series, The Sisterchicks series, Departures, Christy and Todd The College Years, The Katie Weldon series, Love Finds You in Sunset Hawaii, and the Hideaway series-all of which have at least some connection to The Forever Friends characters. So to say that I've been excited about getting to read Christy and Todd The Married Years trilogy while I myself have been married for almost five years is a definite understatement, and I was excited that after a year on the waiting lis
