The Jam and Jelly Nook by Amy Clipston Review

Hello Friends :) I'm Kirby, and I'm so thankful that you took the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review. If I'm going to be honest, my list of favorite authors seems to grow and grow all the time, with most of them being from the Christian Fiction genre. There is so many talented authors out there, and somedays it's really hard for me to narrow down my favorites. However, one author who would make this list each and every time is Amy Clipston. I adore her Amish fiction novels, and I'm beyond belief excited that she's releasing a contemporary novel later this year. Her Amish Marketplace series has become one of my favorite series by her, and honestly one of my favorite series of all time. I've adored the previous three books in the series (reviews here , here and here ), and I couldn't wait to dive into the fourth and final book in the series. Did it live up to my expectations? Did it become a new favorite? Keep reading

I Hope You Dance by Robin Lee Hatcher Review

Hello Everyone :) Are you excited for Holy Week? With everything going on in our world, I think it's more important than ever to cast our cares upon Jesus, and make sure that we're looking only to Him as our source of joy. Putting our focus on Him takes the focus off our own problems and our own selfish desires, and it's something I'm really trying to concentrate on this week. We're currently in the middle of a huge blizzard!!! There's travel advisories issued, there's so much snow predicted, and the winds are expected to get even more ugly and destructive. So to put it mildly, I don't really plan on leaving my house today. I'm about to put a new recipe in my crockpot, and curl up with my devotionals and my Bible. Later, I plan on doing some housework and reading a couple of the NetGalley ARC's I'm currently working my way through. What are your plans for this lovely Monday? Today's review is actually one that I had written quite awhile a

The Faith in Flowers by Rachael Bloome Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I'm praying you've all had a great week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. One of my friends received some bad news yesterday, the COVID situation has escalated in a region near us, and we're currently receiving more snow, however, I'm determined to make the best of everything, and I'm going to try and bundle up and go for at least a short walk. Spending time in God's beautiful creation always seems to cheer me up, so I'm going to try and take the time to do that today. There are so many things I truly love about being a book blogger, and probably a few things I don't love. However, if you were to ask me what my favorite part of it is, without a doubt I'd tell you the amazing authors and book people I've met from being a part of these communities. I met Rachael Bloome a couple of years ago through Instagram, and she's become one of my all time favorite authors. She's such a sweet lady, a talente

Fractured Vessels by Gina Renee Freitag Review

Hello Friends :) How have you all been doing lately? Life seems to have been tough for so many people lately (myself included), and sometimes it's hard to stay joyful amidst everything happening in our world. Two of my favorite ways to stay motivated and peaceful are to spend time studying God's Word, and spend time with Him in concentrated prayer. One other thing I do that I find really helps is choosing to read only Christian Fiction and/or clean fiction reads. There's so many amazing Christian and clean authors out there, and I think it's more important than ever to be mindful about what type of medias we're allowing ourselves to consume. If you'd ever like some recommendations for these genres, let me know as I have so many I'd be willing to share, like for instance, the author I'm about to share with you all today. Last year I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Painted Vessels by the lovely Gina Renee Freitag. You can find that review here.

At Lighthouse Point by Suzanne Woods Fisher Review

Good Morning Friends :) I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and I'm thankful to each and every one of you for joining me today on The Preppy Book Princess for another book review.  Over the last couple of years, I've really come to adore Suzanne Woods Fisher's beautiful books. I've especially grown fond of her Three Sisters Island series, and words cannot even express how excited I was to finally get to read the third and final book in the series. Today I'm excited to share with all of you what I ended up thinking about it. You can check out my reviews from the first two books in the series here and here. Dreams Rekindled by Amanda Cabot Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I have to be honest and state that I've had a little bit of a trying week. I've been dealing with some stress over a few things, my hubby has been under a lot of additional work stress, and I'd started to notice that we had a weird smell in our laundry room. Once my hubby checked it out, he realized that our water heater had started leaking, and so yesterday we had to get a brand new water heater installed. On top of that, there's been some more scary news about the COVID situation in our province, and sigh sometimes it just seems like life is too much. I'm thankful every single day that I have the Lord to turn to through each and every difficult situation, and I'm trying to just keep on going, and looking on the bright side of things as much as possible. Like for instance, the fact that I can't wait to

Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter Review

Happy Saint Patrick's Day Friends :) Do you consider today a big deal? I've never really understood the thrill about this particular holiday, especially considering those who use it as an excuse to go drinking and partying. It doesn't make any sense to me, but since green is my favorite color, I do enjoy that part of it. Haha now that I think about it, I'm actually wearing a green sweater today which I in no way had planned around St. Patrick's Day. Too Funny! Anyways, with that being said, I am so excited for today's review guys! Denise Hunter is one of my all time favorite authors, and I adore all her stories. I got the pleasure of meeting her back in 2016 at the RT Booklovers Convention, and she is just as sweet and kind in real person as she appears online. She actually has three books releasing this year, which makes me so happy, and today I'm excited to share with you all about the first one: her upcoming April 2021 release. Bookshop by the Sea by De

All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I hope you all had a great weekend, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. With everything going on in my life being the way it was at the end of 2020, I never actually got around to doing any of my yearly wrap ups. However, I can say without a doubt that if I had ended up doing my wrap ups, Nicole Deese's Before I Called You Mine (review here ), would have been my absolute favorite read of the year. So it would be a gross understatement to say that I was eagerly anticipating her 2021 release. Did I end up thinking it lived up to all my expectations? Keep reading below to find out. All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: April 6th, 2021 Genre: Christian Fiction/Women's Fiction Synopsis: Molly McKenzie's bright personality and on-trend fashion and beauty advice have earned her an impressive social media following,

All Fudged Up by Nancy Coco Review

Hello Friends :) How have you all been coping with everything going on lately? Honestly, I'm finding the current state of our world to be scary and disheartening, and it truly breaks my heart to see how rampant evil has become, even more so lately. I've mainly only been reading Christian and clean fiction reads for the last six months, and I've had such a better reading experience doing so. However, today I'm going to share a review with you all for a book that is a cozy mystery, and is not a Christian fiction title. I went back and forth over whether I should review this one or not, but I do know there's a lot of Christian fiction fans or clean fiction fans who enjoy cozy mysteries, and I think it's important to be transparent about whether or not a book is appropriate. Why did I choose to pick up this particular title you may ask? Well, to be honest I've kind of developed a fascination with Mackinac Island lately. I love the idea of an island that "

First Impressions: An Amish Tale of Pride and Prejudice by Sarah Price Review

Hello Friends :) How have you all been doing lately? I feel in our area that we're getting a little sneak peak of Spring, which has been lovely, but it's also kind of a tease as they're currently predicting upcoming snow and colder temperatures again. I think there's definitely beauty to appreciate in each and every season, and I'm so thankful that our Heavenly Father chose to bless us with four beautiful and unique seasons each year. However, with the Covid restrictions in our region, I definitely think the warmer weather will make things a little easier, as we'd actually be able to see family and friends outside and the like. However, all this cold weather and isolation has definitely contributed to me discovering some many amazing reads, and I currently have a new to me author obsession. If you've never read Sarah Price before and you're a fan of Amish fiction, then you need to rectify that immediately. I hadn't read her books before this year,

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble Review

Happy Monday Friends :) How was your weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful; and I've somehow managed to develop another ear infection which meant I pretty much stayed close to home. However, I was able to make great progress on some spring cleaning and organizing, and I was extremely thankful for some warmer temperatures. Unfortunately, our city also saw a tragic event happen over this last weekend, and it once again reminded me just how short our days on this earth can truly be. I'm praying that everyone involved knew Jesus, and it really painted a vivid picture for me about just how important it is to spread the message of Jesus in anyway we possibly can.  One of the ways I've decided to do this is by focusing mainly on Christian fiction and non-fiction reviews for this blog. I will occasionally still post a review of a secular book, but I want my blog to serve as a light for Jesus and I also want to be a lot more careful about the type of medias I'm allowing myself t

Current Devotional Routine

Happy Friday Friends :) I pray you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me (Kirby) here on The Preppy Book Princess. I had a different idea for a post today, and I'm excited to share it all with you. I've found that the last year and a half has been really trying, and I've realized even more than ever just how much I need to spend time with Jesus. I'm sure many of you are currently going through the same, and so today I thought I'd love to share with you all the amazing devotional books I'm currently using daily, as I'm sure they could help many of you the same way they have me. The Confident Woman Devotional by Joyce Meyer: I've done a few of Joyce Meyer's devotionals previously, and always have enjoyed them. My mom gifted me this one at Christmas, and I'm finding it such an encouragement for my walk of faith. I've never really been someone who's extremely confident, and I love how this entire devotional focuses a
