Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers Review

Happy Monday Everyone :) Thanks so much for joining me for another week here on the Preppy Book Princess. I honestly can't believe tomorrow is already Halloween! Honestly, fall is almost over :(, and I'm so sad to see my favorite season come to an end. However, November brings with it the start of the excitement of the Christmas season, and that definitely makes up for fall leaving us for another year. I'm so excited to welcome the season of the birth of our Lord and Savior once again, and I can't wait to start Christmas themed posts on my blog. I will be doing Blogmas again this year, as I really enjoyed it last year, and already have some fun posts planned for it. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the time commitment again this year. As well, for the second year in a row, I will be participating in the #TBTBSanta exchange that's organized by Jamie from the Broke and the Bookish, and I encourage any of you guys who are interested to take

Blue Ridge Sunrise by Denise Hunter

Happy Friday Everyone :) I'm so excited it's finally the weekend. This week has unfortunately not been the greatest week for me, but I'm definitely trying to focus on the positive, instead of on the negative. While not always the easiest thing to do, I'm certainly doing better with this than I have in previous months. Of course, one of my favorite ways to stay positive during harder times is to curl up with a new read, and in particular, I love reading inspirational fiction during times like this as I definitely find them to be more inspiring than most secular reads.  When I saw the new Denise Hunter novel was on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to request it, as she's definitely one of my all time favorite authors. Today, I'd like to take the time to share with all of you what I thought about this upcoming release from one of my all time favorite authors.  Blue Ridge Sunrise by Denise Hunter: Source: Thomas Nelson Via Netgalley Publishe

Five Inspirational Books I Just Added To My TBR List #3

Happy Wednesday Everyone! This past weekend was the first ever Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt, and it was so much fun! 25 inspirational authors posted clues on their webpages that you had to collect, in order to enter the huge giveaways at the end. Lots of the authors also had individual giveaways on their own web pages, and while a lot of these smaller giveaways weren't open internationally, some of them sure were, and it was a lot of fun. My favorite part was getting to discover some amazing new to me authors, and their books, and my TBR list grew substantially after I'd completed the hunt. I only wish I'd known about this fun scavenger hunt earlier, as I would have loved to have had the chance to share it with all of you guys. :) Now because I added so many new books to my TBR list this last weekend, I decided today was the perfect day to post another 5 Inspirational Reads I Just Added To My TBR List. If you want to see the previous two posts I've don

Trauma Plan by Candace Calvert Review

Hello Everyone, and happy start of another amazing week :) Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess. Yesterday, our pastor at church shared a sermon on prioritizing our time, and making sure we include time for the truly important things like time with God, and time with family and close friends. That really resonated with me, as while I've been really good with spending time in devotions and Bible readings, I've been really terrible at making time for visiting family and friends. As such, my Sunday afternoon plans originally included working on my blog for a few hours, and catching up with some housework and yard work. However, instead I ended up having a much overdo visit with my mom, sister, and my baby nephew, and it was one of the most enjoyable afternoons I've had in awhile. So I guess the moral of my long winded intro today, is to never lose sight of what's truly important in life. While I'm always happy to be working on

Lizzy and Jane by Katherine Reay

Happy Friday Guys :) We're near the end of another beautiful week, and I'm feeling so blessed to be here once again to share a new book review with all you guys during my all time favorite season. It seems so often we get caught up in the day to day problems, and negativity, and we often forget to reflect on the many blessings surrounding us each day. One such blessing for me is the close relationship I share with my older sister. Of course throughout the years we've had our fights like most siblings have, but I've been blessed to be able to call her one of my best friends ever since we were young kids. One of the main reasons that Lizzy and Jane appealed to me in the first place was the fact that its primary focus is the relationship between two adult sisters, in an Austen inspired tale. I found myself really loving this beautiful story about redemption, God's healing grace, and finding your place in the family dynamic. Even though my sister and I

The Chocolate Book Tag

Happy Wednesday Guys :) I hope you're all having a fabulous week, and I'm excited and thankful you're joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess. All in all, this has been a really long week and a half or so for me. I've taken on several new work duties, and I've been putting in some loooong hours trying to get everything accomplished. However, I definitely love the opportunity to learn new skills, and contribute more in my work environment, and it's just going to be a bit of balancing act figuring out how to make everything fit and work together in my schedule. So with all this going on, Neil and I decided a day away was a much needed respite, and so we're on our way to the city to do some Christmas shopping, spend some quality time together, and enjoy a delicious dinner. However, I definitely didn't forget about my blog, and I thought today would be the perfect day to share with you all the Chocolate Book Tag, which was created by A D

Cinderella's Dress by Shonna Slayton Review

Happy Monday Everyone :) Thanks so much for joining me today on the Preppy Book Princess :) As many of you already probably know, I loooove Disney. It's my favorite vacation spot, I love Disney movies, Disney style, the Disney characters....my list could go on and on. So it probably comes as no surprise to anyone that I also really love reading fairy tale retellings. And, I often enjoy the ones the most that deviate from the usual Disney tale, and go somewhere else with the story. I recently finished an amazing novel in the last few days that was definitely like this, and I'm excited to get to talk about it with all of you today. Cinderella's Dress by Shonna Slayton: Publisher: Entangled Teen Publication Date: June 3rd, 2014 Source: Bought for myself  Synopsis: Being a teenager during World War II is tough. Finding out you're the next keeper of the real Cinderella's dress is even tougher. Kate simply wants to create window displays a

Weekend TBR Pile

Happy Friday Everyone :) Welcome back to the Preppy Book Princess. I hope you're all looking forward to the weekend, as I know I sure am. I'm definitely planning to enjoy the beautiful fall weather we're currently having, and I'm also planning on curling up with some great books. It's been a few weeks since I last shared my weekend TBR pile, so I thought that would be a fun post to share with you all today. :) Best of My Love by Susan Mallery: First on my list this weekend, is the 20th novel in Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series. While this series overall has not really been my favorite, there's definitely been a few novels that have stood out for me, and I'm hoping this one will also be one. I always enjoyed Shelby's character in the previous books, and I'm looking forward to her getting her own happy ending instead of just watching everyone else's. I'm about a quarter done this one so far, and I'm really enj
