Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer Review

Hello Bookish Friends!! Today is a very special post for me here on The Preppy Book Princess. This review I'm posting today is officially my 400th blog post! When I first started my blog back in 2015 it seemed like such milestones were such a long ways off, and now I can't believe I'm already to that point. I've read and reviewed some pretty amazing books in the last 399 posts, and for today's, I decided to make my 400th a review of an amazing book that really stood out to me with it's strong characters, swoon worthy romance, and the fact that faith was at the heart of every integral moment throughout the story. Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer: Source: Library Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: June 1st, 2012 Genre: Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction Series: Archer Brothers Synopsis: No one steps on Archer land. Not if they value their life. But when Meredith Hayes overhears a lethal plot to burn the Archer brothers off

A Wild Goose Chase Christmas by Jennifer AlLee Review

Hello Friends :) Does anyone else read Christmas books all throughout the year? For some reason, I always do, and I think it's mainly because I love them too much to only read them during the holiday season. A couple of weeks ago, I finished a really sweet one that emphasized family, friends, and understanding what's truly valuable in life, and today I can't wait to review it all for you guys. A Wild Goose Chase Christmas by Jennifer AlLee: Source: Library Publisher: Abingdon Press Publication Date: November 2012 Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Series: Quilts of Love Synopsis: Upon her grandmother's death, Izzy Fontaine finds herself in possession of a Wild Goose Chase pattern quilt that supposedly leads to a great treasure. Of course, once the rest of the family finds out about the "treasure map," they're determined to have a go at the treasure themselves. And, if that weren't enough, Max Logan, a local museum curator

Authors That Have Had Cameos In Their Adaptations

Hello Everyone :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me today here on The Preppy Book Princess. I'm sure a lot of you have now watched and loved To All The Boys I Loved Before on Netflix, and if you're anything like myself, you've probably become a little obsessed. I've currently watched it five times-twice with my husband-and I've encouraged all of my friends and family to watch it too.  They did such an amazing job adapting one of my all time favorite books, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the casting. But perhaps my favorite part of all was Jenny Han's brief cameo. I've always loved when authors cameo in the adaptations of their beloved novels, and I thought it would make a fun blog post to share some of my favorite cameos with you, and also some of the ones that I've found out about recently that I didn't know of before. Jenny Han in To All The Boys I Loved Before: This has de

Miracle On 34th Street: A Storybook Edition of the Christmas Classic

Happy Thursday Everyone! I know I don't usually post on Thursdays, but I'm here to do so today for two main reasons: 1) Unfortunately, I'd caught a nasty bug that was going around work last week, and it really knocked me down. I've missed several of my regular posting days simply because I didn't feel well enough to do so. Since I'm finally starting to feel better, I really wanted to get a new book review up for all of you guys today. 2) Today is a really special day, and that's because today, September 20th, 2018 is the day that The Preppy Book Princess officially turns three years old! I feel my blog has come a long way from what is was on its opening day, and I'm so proud of what it's become. I want to thank you guys all for sticking with me on this fun, bookish journey, and I think today's post is the perfect one to celebrate such a big milestone for my blog.  I know it's only September, but I'm honestly already getting excit

The Winter of Candy Canes by Debbie Viguie Review

Hello Everyone :) Thank you so much for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Let me ask you all, are you sad to see summer come to a close, or are you looking very much forward to fall? For myself, fall is my favorite season, and while I enjoy summer I'm usually quite happy to see the season change over. This year this is especially true as we've had unnaturally hot days, next to no rain, and huge amounts of wildfire smoke that's blown in from the surrounding provinces.  I'm keeping everyone affected by the wildfires in my prayers, and I'm very much looking forward to moving into a slightly cooler season. And of course, after fall comes Christmas, and you guys know that's my favorite time of the year. And in fact, I just finished reading an amazing Christmas story that I couldn't wait to share with you all today. Happy Wednesday Bookish Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me today here on The Preppy Book Princess. August 2018 Wrap Up

I can't even begin to describe how excited I am that it's officially September guys! It's almost time for fall, and that of course means it's almost time for the leaves changing color, pumpkin and apple season, and of course sweaters and riding boots. There's so many fallish books I want to get to in the next couple of months, but before I do so, I thought I'd take a moment to share with you guys all about all the books I finished in August of 2018. As always, I'm listing these in the order I finished them, and not in a best-to worst or worst-to-best order. Let's jump right in: Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig: My first read of August was unfortunately a big disappointment. I'd had Pretty Crooked sitting on my book shelf for a couple of years, and I was really looking forward to finally reading it. I'd heard that it was kind of a Robin Hood inspired tale, and that it was recommended for fans of Ally Carter. Unfortunately, I foun
