Out of the Embers by Amanda Cabot Review

Hello Everyone :) How have you all been doing? Stress seems to be mounting everywhere lately, and sometimes that can get tiring. One other thing I'm noticing more and more every single day lately is just how much more rampant evil is becoming in our world. I've done quite a few devotions lately that have been talking about the garbage in, garbage out mantra, and I know personally just how important this truly is. I've always loved Christian and clean fiction, but it didn't always make up the majority of what I was reading, and that has completely changed for me. Very rarely do I now choose to read anything that isn't from one of these categories, and it's helped me to do a much better job of guarding my heart and mind. As well, guys I can't even begin to tell you how many amazing authors I've had the chance to try for the first time when I stopped wasting my reading time on inappropriate content. One of those authors was Amanda Cabot. I had the opportu

Love Finds You in Mackinac Island, Michigan by Melanie Dobson Review

Hello Friends :) If you've been reading my blog the last few months, then you probably have heard me talk about my recent fascination with Mackinac Island. There's something about this beautiful island that completely intrigues me, and I'd love to be able to visit there someday. Since traveling across the USA border is not an option right now, I've been enjoying reading books that are set on Mackinac Island. This is part three of my series highlighting books taking place on this island, and I hope to share one more of these posts with you soon. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers Review

Hello Bookish Friends :) A couple of weeks ago,  I finally did a thing guys. I finally read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I've been hearing about this book for ages, but I'd never got around to reading it. I decided I desperately needed to change that fact, and while I do think this read is probably not appropriate for anyone under the age of eighteen, it's an absolutely amazing testament to the transforming power of God's love, and I can't wait to talk about it today with you all. I will however say, that I don't expect my review to ever be able to do this book justice. It's been read and reviewed thousands upon thousands of times, and I'm not even trying to compete with that.  However, I do hope that even one reader stopping by my blog will feel compelled to give it a try, and that would honestly be good enough for me.  God is sooooo good guys, and I love amazing stories that remind us all of that fact. No Ocean Too Wide by Carrie Turansky Review

Hello Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. Can you believe it's already June? Our weather was pretty wonky at the end of May, with lots of chilly days. Now that it's June, we've gone into a record breaking heat wave, and it's definitely made for interesting days. However, all of this up and down weather has definitely given me more time to dive into my TBR stack, and I've been able to finish quite a few books.  If you can believe it, before today's read, I'd never actually read a book by the lovely Carrie Turansky. I knew I needed to change that fact after the many great things I've heard about her books, and today I'm excited to share with you all what I ended up thinking about my first experience with one of her books. The Jam and Jelly Nook by Amy Clipston Review

Hello Friends :) I'm Kirby, and I'm so thankful that you took the time to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review. If I'm going to be honest, my list of favorite authors seems to grow and grow all the time, with most of them being from the Christian Fiction genre. There is so many talented authors out there, and somedays it's really hard for me to narrow down my favorites. However, one author who would make this list each and every time is Amy Clipston. I adore her Amish fiction novels, and I'm beyond belief excited that she's releasing a contemporary novel later this year. Her Amish Marketplace series has become one of my favorite series by her, and honestly one of my favorite series of all time. I've adored the previous three books in the series (reviews here , here and here ), and I couldn't wait to dive into the fourth and final book in the series. Did it live up to my expectations? Did it become a new favorite? Keep reading

The Faith in Flowers by Rachael Bloome Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I'm praying you've all had a great week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. One of my friends received some bad news yesterday, the COVID situation has escalated in a region near us, and we're currently receiving more snow, however, I'm determined to make the best of everything, and I'm going to try and bundle up and go for at least a short walk. Spending time in God's beautiful creation always seems to cheer me up, so I'm going to try and take the time to do that today. There are so many things I truly love about being a book blogger, and probably a few things I don't love. However, if you were to ask me what my favorite part of it is, without a doubt I'd tell you the amazing authors and book people I've met from being a part of these communities. I met Rachael Bloome a couple of years ago through Instagram, and she's become one of my all time favorite authors. She's such a sweet lady, a talente

Fractured Vessels by Gina Renee Freitag Review

Hello Friends :) How have you all been doing lately? Life seems to have been tough for so many people lately (myself included), and sometimes it's hard to stay joyful amidst everything happening in our world. Two of my favorite ways to stay motivated and peaceful are to spend time studying God's Word, and spend time with Him in concentrated prayer. One other thing I do that I find really helps is choosing to read only Christian Fiction and/or clean fiction reads. There's so many amazing Christian and clean authors out there, and I think it's more important than ever to be mindful about what type of medias we're allowing ourselves to consume. If you'd ever like some recommendations for these genres, let me know as I have so many I'd be willing to share, like for instance, the author I'm about to share with you all today. Last year I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Painted Vessels by the lovely Gina Renee Freitag. You can find that review here.

Dreams Rekindled by Amanda Cabot Review

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all doing well, and I want to thank you for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. I have to be honest and state that I've had a little bit of a trying week. I've been dealing with some stress over a few things, my hubby has been under a lot of additional work stress, and I'd started to notice that we had a weird smell in our laundry room. Once my hubby checked it out, he realized that our water heater had started leaking, and so yesterday we had to get a brand new water heater installed. On top of that, there's been some more scary news about the COVID situation in our province, and sigh sometimes it just seems like life is too much. I'm thankful every single day that I have the Lord to turn to through each and every difficult situation, and I'm trying to just keep on going, and looking on the bright side of things as much as possible. Like for instance, the fact that I can't wait to

Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter Review

Happy Saint Patrick's Day Friends :) Do you consider today a big deal? I've never really understood the thrill about this particular holiday, especially considering those who use it as an excuse to go drinking and partying. It doesn't make any sense to me, but since green is my favorite color, I do enjoy that part of it. Haha now that I think about it, I'm actually wearing a green sweater today which I in no way had planned around St. Patrick's Day. Too Funny! Anyways, with that being said, I am so excited for today's review guys! Denise Hunter is one of my all time favorite authors, and I adore all her stories. I got the pleasure of meeting her back in 2016 at the RT Booklovers Convention, and she is just as sweet and kind in real person as she appears online. She actually has three books releasing this year, which makes me so happy, and today I'm excited to share with you all about the first one: her upcoming April 2021 release. Bookshop by the Sea by De

Happy Monday Friends :) I hope you all had a great weekend, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess. With everything going on in my life being the way it was at the end of 2020, I never actually got around to doing any of my yearly wrap ups. However, I can say without a doubt that if I had ended up doing my wrap ups, Nicole Deese's Before I Called You Mine (review here ), would have been my absolute favorite read of the year. So it would be a gross understatement to say that I was eagerly anticipating her 2021 release. Did I end up thinking it lived up to all my expectations? Keep reading below to find out. All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese: Source: Publisher via NetGalley Publisher: Bethany House Publication Date: April 6th, 2021 Genre: Christian Fiction/Women's Fiction Synopsis: Molly McKenzie's bright personality and on-trend fashion and beauty advice have earned her an impressive social media following,

All Fudged Up by Nancy Coco Review

Hello Friends :) How have you all been coping with everything going on lately? Honestly, I'm finding the current state of our world to be scary and disheartening, and it truly breaks my heart to see how rampant evil has become, even more so lately. I've mainly only been reading Christian and clean fiction reads for the last six months, and I've had such a better reading experience doing so. However, today I'm going to share a review with you all for a book that is a cozy mystery, and is not a Christian fiction title. I went back and forth over whether I should review this one or not, but I do know there's a lot of Christian fiction fans or clean fiction fans who enjoy cozy mysteries, and I think it's important to be transparent about whether or not a book is appropriate. Why did I choose to pick up this particular title you may ask? Well, to be honest I've kind of developed a fascination with Mackinac Island lately. I love the idea of an island that "
